Not painted as i just finished truscaleing and gs work. Yes, I suck at gs work.

speaking from experience but you might want to take a bit an spread some more gs around his grieves where you extended the legs. i learned it can be tedious but the extra effort looks much better.

i need to gs the trophy racks racks and i think i'll do as you say grip, that makes sense.

the trick is to keep your sculpting tool wet, i find that vaseline works better than water for lubing up your sculpting instrument, and to press the gs very thin. add the putty in small amounts to ensure you don't have too much on there and take your time with it. once you have the stuff in the right place use the flat of the blade to smooth it out a bit.

Hey it looks good, but to make it look great it needs some help.. TO be honest anything GS is going to look sorta bad but once its painted it will look much better!

May I suggest just taking some time and detailing the GS even shaving the leg area to make it blend in better (so that it isnt too obvious)

btw practice makes perfect especially with GS more so then even painting..

I once had a guy make a spawn by throwing CSM bits and mutation spru bits in a bag with gs and a light layer on glue on a base and shaking it.. HJis reason:

ok, the pic isn't near as good, I'll get a better, but added "Chaosy" hair and filled out the torso more cuz i thought it was needed.

Looking good. The left side (in the pic, to the left side) could use a little fillign where's there are some gogues (or it could be battle damagae). I would also vote for the cape. For some reason to me the legs look thin, and the cap might help detract from that.

I could do that, i have another model i want to put a cape on NEways.

I'll take pics during the process and do a small tutorial.

In all actuality for my first real sculpting exercise, i am very happy with the way that this guy turned out. I will now be re-doing all the shins of my TS chosen nurgle squad and i have to come up with some sort of Icon of nurgle to throw in here any ideas?

also i've had decent luck with the old warhammer orc banner. the flat squarish one that has 2 small rents in it. i have one like that that i've painted up for my tzeentch army which looks nice and if you can find some thin hollow tubing (best i found is actually from lollipops with the whistle) which fits right over the banner poles from the sm or csm banner men. (mine is on one of the older DA robed bannerman).

holy crap on a stick! steve, that cloak is awesome! the legs are looking better too. one small point on the vaseline trick...it's a bugger to paint over if you don't take steps to get rid of it.

Thanks hairy, i thought that might be the case. I am thinking a paper towelette will work well and letting it sit about 48 hrs before i do anything else with it.
