there are ideas that erus has inspired for the rune that i'm still trying to figure out how to manage, but if i can pull it off it should be pretty damn sweet!

bumpcity!

right then chaps, been busy this morning. i wired up the psychic hood, set light to the rune stone in the hand and runed up the right shoulder pad (remembering to take pics of the process for a tute )

here's the results of my mornings work...

all that's left to do on this guy is the weapon which just needs the attention of a razor saw which i don't have and the cloak, which i've decided not to do strand-by-strand as was the plan. couple more days should see him el finito

Hairy, if I can send it I have a spare saw handle and some lovely blades. Would you like it?

nice of you to offer dude but the last time i sent something metal through the hands of the usps the package got ripped open and the item lost, so i wouldn't like to take the chance. apparently certain modelling items have possible terrorist applications i'll just borrow my local GW's saw for 5 minutes.

glad you like it darighaaz_king, it's the most complex conversion i've ever attempted and i'm well chuffed with it so far yes it's bigger than normal, all my marines are. i practice a method of truescaling that was shown to me by someone who's probably forgotton more about modelling than i'll ever know typical that he ups and leaves just when i need his input the most!

the bit i lost was the flames that were on top of the runestone so at least i won't have to do the whole hand again. the flame itself was a tassley bit that was attached to a scout bolter. i found it randomly in the mess that populated my desk and i don't think i have another. i guess i'll have to brave the darkness under the desk and try to retrieve it if i'm not back inside a week send out well armed search parties

Yeah, that item would have come in real handy last night. Now I gotta try to rework a bunch of GS grrrr. Oh, I have to say Hairy, that might be the best looking mini of yours I've seen. Very, very nice!

*braces for the hammer!!

Well I had a second look at it and I think the main deal to me is its wide and thin. like an auspex. if you could bulk the flame out some with GS it would look better to me BUT it might detract from the actual stone....unless you paited the stone real bright to bring it back out.

to be fair, it doesent help the fact its not painted as with regards the onion, I 'm sure with a paint job on it the onion would be thing in the past!

Why is it, if you drop somet, its always your favourite minis, everytime!!
