Blog Entries: 1  |  iron hands army wip hey all. for those of you Special folks (yellow bus included......) who check out the blog section. i've started a discussion on my iron hands army. well i've recieved a suggestion or 3 that i do an offical wip on them. i've got most of the army but i'm at various stages in the construction/painting of them. most of the modesl are assembled and based black. (hey they are iron hands). got lots of silvering and some red to do to them which i'll be posting updates in here as i can. i've also got some scratch build drop pods that i need to build that will be in here too. i've recieved a few designs from folks and while i appreciate them for these pods atleast i'll be doing them different. i'll probably try some of these other at a later date. i'm gonna try to get a full force pic up this weekend and then try for some squad shots as i can. bout the only models i really need to pick up for this army is a couple razor backs (or just make this an all drop pod army with only my scouts and vindi deploying.....hmmmm) c&c as always is welcome and i'll try to get those pics up soon. (no hairy this doesn't mean i'm setting aside our biker contest. mine is almost done and ready for paint soon!!!!) grip

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: iron hands army wip hey you didn't put no copywrite symbol on none of our conversations!!! and even if you did Erus i didn't see nutttin!!!!!!!  i've got the scout bodies and i'm cleaning them. should have some bits for the rest of the conversion by next weekend. got a trade with a buddy locally for what i need and he's bringing it to the store. oh and i picked up about 7-8 more assault marines with jet packs so i've got enough to do the squad for the sgt!! now i gotta convert them!! bionic arms and such. raise them off the bases...yadda yadda yadda.... not sure how much time i'll have this weekend for pics. found out earlier today the wife wants to do our anniversary dinner sun night as i'll be working on our actual anniversary this week and monday we're going up to my brothers to see my new nephew. i'll get them as soon as i can hopefully monday night. grip.

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: iron hands army wip well here are some pics finally. they are not broken up into squads or anything except for the scouts and what was my command squad for a while. the command squad is gonna get broken down into the other squads soon since i have 2 techmarines with full servo harness goodness!!! 1.incognito!! (or commonly know as storage!!!)  2. everybody fall in!!!  3. scouts report!!  (yes that is a techpriest enginseer as the squad vet sgt!!!!, had to get a servo arm in there somehow! ; P ) 4. old command squad front and center!  5. incomming command post!!  6. dreadnaughts and vidicator post left flank!  7. Hvy weapon teams inspection arms!!!  and with them is the iron father model with newly modified jump pack with servo arm to serve as the company chaplain 8. troops fall in!   there you go the current status of my iron hands army. in the background you should have seen 4 white plastic thingys. these will eventually become custom drop pods for my dreads. they'll get thier own wip as soon as i devise a good way to build them up. also not shown is the squad of ass marines that i'm preparing to strip and the newly arrived plastic scouts which i'm waiting on bits to start converting. DISMISSED!!!!

 though i have thought of changin the labels to be what i've put in them but i'm too lazy. @rellik - thats only my iron hands army dude. my 1ksons army is half again as big (3500pts approx) and my general chaos is still bigger yet (7500pts approx some still unbuilt) and not thats not using model from one in the other. i could almost completly fill that table with chaos stuff. and if i need more i still have my eldar to add (2000pts approx some still unbuilt).

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: iron hands army wip right guys! my plastic sniper scouts are in and so are the other bits i was looking for! so heres whats happening with these guys. after a fairly involved conversation with erus we came up with the idea that scouts are sent ahead of the force with minmal gear and would need to scounge up extra weapons from the local worlds they deploy on. hence my scouts. now i'll not say the bits used but i'm sure a good group of you could figure out where they are from.  trimming down the sniper rifles was a real pain in the arse!!!  only 2 of the squad will actually be holding thier rifles as if shooting. just these 2  and with thier aquired weapons completely installed  and the group with the remaining 3 with thier rifles on thier backs  i'll get pics of thier straps later when i start on thier arms. grip

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: iron hands army wip ok now. i'm preparing to get back to work on this army here shortly. i've been taking quite a break from most of my 40k stuff for a bit over a month. haven't gotten a 40k game in for almost 3 months now..  i've done a little bit of painting since the last pics and i'll try to have pics of those guys up this week end. and i've got to reprime some of these guys but i'd like to strip them first. i'm sure its somewhere else but what do ya'll use to strip plastic models? i've got simple green and tried that but its way too much work for my lazy arse. that or the last models i tried to do it on had some uber powerful paint on them.... jimeny cricket they were a pain to strip!!!! anyways i'm off to try to crash and get some sleep in long day at work tomorow overtime... yuck!! grip

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: iron hands army wip well i had done some work a few weeks ago when i had some training for work to go to and i got some painting done on these guys. enjoy temie - not sure yet if i'll do him as the sgt of a term squad or vet sgt for a troop unit.  and here are 3 guys from my assault squad. i havent done thier pack or arms yet.  sorry about the pic quality the camera really seems to not like me. i was using macro and no flash but still it didnt want to focus...... probably too much dark colors or some such stupid reason......
