It has extra armor, 3 ass cans and a twin linked heavy bolter... Usable or CHEESE ?

Looks like it could inflict insane amounts of anti-infantry damage, but all speeders are pretty weak. I'm sure it'd be expensive but I'm not sure if it'd be worth it.

well, the reinforced aromor will help with that some i hope, but i was thinking it and 2 tornado asscan/HB LS in a squadron. i can help to allieviate some of it's drawbacks.

also, should i model a windshield like the FW one?

I say it's cheese but looks like a lot of fun! If you can, use it in Apocalypse where you can worry less about performance and more about fun. It seems like the Terminus of Land Speeders!

OK people, now i need some input.

My BA successor chapter will be using

ALL SOLID CORE AMMUNITION!

so my question to you is this:
What Can/Should I use for Viable replacements for:

Plasma Cannons
Melta Guns
Flamers.

Remember VDR is a great tool, but i need some help with this. and i'll be trading some bits soon to replace my lascannons and such for solid core weapons.

Bring in some deathwatch vets using heavy bolters with the suspensors? reduces range to 18" but becomes assault 3...

dude, bolters do not have "solid" amunittion. the damn bullet is hollow, housing an explosive!

To debate a point...

Solid core ammunition is determined by the projectile issued forth from the weaponry. A bolter fires a solid slug (contrary to your sentence fragment, it is not hollow) with a mass-reactive charge and impact sensitive tip. What this means is when it impacts something of a certain mass or solidity, the explosive inside the slug will explode and the slug will turn to sharpnel.

This is what gives the bolter it's massive power is both the size of the slug ( I believe the regular bolter is bigger in size than a .50 cal ammo) mass-reactive explosive. As the Munitorium Manual states, boltguns are essentially miniature missile launchers.

Also, technically nothing on the bolter is solid.The bolter itself uses (depending on pattern) electric fire trigger system, or traditional gunpowder. The bullet is over 75-80% slug (again, depending on pattern/variant). There is actually very little casing to the bullet, and what little there is contains a small powder charge used to eject the bullet about 1-2 metres from the muzzle, from there the explosives in the bullet itself take over and propel the bolter at a phenomenal speed approach Mach 2, and in the case of many Godwyn variants, exceeding such.

Dead on. Doesn't part of it's destructive power come from the fact that it has a deterium core? I'm assuming deterium is something akin the uranium. And yes, I think the bolter is .50 cal or over. Comparing the size of the barrel to their body size it sure looks like it's over .5 inches in diameter.

erus is right. anything that is rock-like in texture/flexibility when it is put in the gun i'd count as solid slug.
plasma, las, etc are where you get into energy weapons and such..melta i believe is pretty much fluid...


anyhow, it looks good ! lol. my cheese alarm is going off, but i turned it off because assault cannons are my favorite gun...pretty much in the game. which is ironic, in 1.5k i have none...haha
i agree with cir though, it might end up being really way too expensive. but then again, when you're toting so many big guns, who cares ? :P haha

You could give the speeder the armoured cowle ==11 all round so not as easily destroyed.
