Blog Entries: 1  |  Magnus - WIP hey all. i think this insanity and madness from our left field converters is really starting to get to me. as such i'm gonna start on creating my own version of Magnus the Red. How ever i need some assistance. i've seen the Horus Heresy vol 1 book that has 3 or so pics of Magnus however it shows him with his eye in a normal socket with "scar" over the other side where the eye should be. i need some more references to go off of. does anyone have any pics of cards, scans etc of magnus that they wouldn't mind sending me so i can get a plan going for how i want him to look? i'd greatly appreciate it. also suggestions on bits would be greatly appreciated too! so far i'm thinkin of using: -current ed csm dp legs (i'd splice them and extend them to give him some extra hieght) -plasticard to make the axe/kopesh thingy with inner chainblade similar to the hh book artwork. -horns - not sure if i'd gs the or pull them off a model... - bolter from tygris (inquisitor sm model) - possibly upper chest from same inquisitor model thats about it so far. lots of planning still to do and then to actually get the bits!! not sure how i'm gonna sneak this by the wife

| i think you should go with a bigger model he was a giant i wouldnt go off of pics for the most part the artist take their own liberties I would read about him and make him how you think he looks

| okay well it sounds like a cool idea, but i bring a warning: no matter how well done a primarch or horus is done, somebody will always not like it, and get really crazy about it. it's like a curse or something. but anyhow...haha. i'm looking forward to seeing what you bring about ! :] i'm sure you'll do a great job :] and btw, i won't be one of the people super crazy about mackin on your stuff, no matter how it looks :P

Blog Entries: 1 | thanks guys! i'm thinking more of the idea of using the dp legs spliced at the shin and thigh and spacers added to make him taller there. and taking the upper torso from the inquisitor Inquistor model (Tygrus i think his name is) because i like the shoulder pads. (i'd have to cut out that throat guard though) i need some large bare arms that hopefully i wouldn't have to cut to look proportionate. saw some just the other day in one of my older wd mags but need to figure out what it was from as it was a conversion in the pic. for his axe i'm thinking some pc stick and pc for the blade (couple layers thick on the blade) and slicing off the teeth from a chain sword to put in the middle of the blade. for his bolter probably go with inqui line size. for the base i'm thinking of picking up either a sm dread molded base or one from the new eldar wraithlord or war walkers. i just hope that i can find a model with a decent face that i can gs over to do a central eye (i dont like the artwork with the eye off to one side) and perhaps some hair swept back. i'm make this model mainly for me. if some other folks like it cool if not no worries. if thier an arse about it well i can always tell them where to stick thier opinion! thanks for the ideas all. if this goes fairly well the major project after this one will probably be perturabo. my two fav legions and primarchs!!!! again thanks
