Default My Apoc (WIP) blog thing

People of 40Kterra I need your help, I want to start an apoc army and I need your help to choose it, so far I have narrowed it down to:

1) Chaos from the Word Bearers,
or
2) DIY space marines based around the Norse

Each one would have super heavies and characters I also need help with the fluff for the army and characters. The DIY marines would have IG allies aswell.

The army would be made over time due to many reasons.

All help is appreciated and progress and pics well be posted when it happens.

Norse Marines would be really cool and I could probably help you with that.

Hmm... I like the idea of Norse DIY Marines... marines with Thunderhammers and Axes... like Space Wolves! lol.

What type of CSM are you thinking of?

Norse Marines.. Word Bearers CSM just can't really be 'fluffy' anymore. Besides, you have greater resources and knowledge pool to draw on if you go that way.

Off topic: Word Bearers have made me think.. Where is our cuddly blue detroyer of world, AKA Stitch?

that color scheme is ACE for the Sons of the Russ (Ruse, with a silibant 's' and long 'u' is the Norse name for Russia, where the Norse came from in part).

As far as a name.. How connected to the culture do you want it?

Quite connected actually, the only thing I've come up with so far is the "Lords of Asgard" and I'm not to sure on that one really.

That might be a little too holy.. The Norse were VERY reverent to the Aesir and V aenir.... And therefore, their holy lands...

Hoemworld - Jötunheimr (home of the Jotun, the norse Giants)?

Actually, Wiki is great on Norse Mythos.. Check it out for yerself. If you want, toss it up here and i'll double check it all. Pay special attention to the table on the right!

I'm pretty sure it was the other way around... the Norse were in Scandinavia and then went to Russia along with the Slavs.

You should make a special character named Surt (a Norse fire giant) or Huginn and Muninn (Odin's ravens, Memory and Mind).

That's not how I remember it... though the last time I study Scandinavia was for a report I did in the what... 5th or 6th grade... a LONG time ago (five-four years)...

it is the Norse rune for warrior, If i don't use it for my symbol I'll use it for tact squads.

these are some of the characters for the chapter

Weapons:Thunder Hammer, Plasma Pistol
War gear:Artificer Armour, Terminator Honours, Frag grenades

Sigarr, Champion of Vígbjörn
(1st Company Capitan)
Weapons: Power Weapon, Storm Shield
War gear:Artificer Armour, Terminator Honours, Frag grenades

Snorri, the Wise
(Master of Sanctity)
Weapons: Crozius Arcanum, Storm Bolter
War gear: Terminator Armour, Terminator Honours, Rosarius

Kúsi, the Slayer
(Reclusiarch)
Weapons: Crozius Arcanum, Bolt Pistol
War gear:Power Armour, Rosarius

Vakr, the Seer
(Epistolary)
Weapons: Force Weapon, Bolt Pistol
War gear: Power Armour, Psychic Hood
Psychic Powers:Fury of the Ancients, Vail of Time

I need help with creating fluff for these guys if you want to help it would be greatly appreciated

I like the idea for your Chapter symbol, although you should spice it up a bit.

The thing is I'm going to have to hand paint the symbol and I wanted some thing easy for it.

Any way I have done a test modal and am quit happy with it

Check out Mart007's guide about taking pictures under the painting competition section of the forums. That should help.
