 |  The Nova Legion marches to war So here beginith the tale of the Nova Legion. Well, not quite. The important part of their back story can be read on The Conclave, in the threads Conclave of Hydraphur(at the very tale end) and GHEP:Lorna. With the story ever continuing in A Tale Of Two Legions. But anyway, enough about the background, this is a topic for the army being created. Today my CSM Army Box (+ my paper version of the Codex) finally arrived after, shall we say, considerable delays. But I don't really mind, the price was more than worth the 3 month delay caused by the company moving premises. And I was rather busy with life anyway. I'll be repainting my old loyalists who have seen few battlefields in their lifetime. List of unbuilt kits currently owned: Tactical squad - 10men Blood Claws - 10men Emperors Champion Khorne Berserkers - 8men CSM terminators - 5men Assault Terminators - 5men CSM - 15men CSM Termi Lord Possessed - 5men Spawn x2 plastic Dreadnought Land Raider Defiler Baneblade Carnifex (not a typo, this will be seriously modified to be a Defiler) List of squads/vehicles built: Tactical squad - 10men Tactical squad - 10men Tactical squad - 5men metal Scouts - 10men metal SM Commander with combi-melta metal SM Standard Bearer old Techmarine old Apothecary old Devastators - 5men Rhino x2 Predator Vindicator Bikers - 3men Assault Bike old plastic Terminators - 5men So as far as I can currently remember, that is the sum total of my marine collection. I've got a lot of painting and modelling ahead of me. I don't have an army list in mind yet, but things will be very flexible and i'm currently looking at a points total of at least 4500 anyway with this lot. I'm off University the entirety of next week, so there will be progress. Unlike every other project I've ever thought up, this one will be completed!! I hope.... Edit: Here is what the Nova Legions colour scheme was when they were still loyalist and under the name the Nova Lords. Expect the Nova Legion paint scheme to be similar but different! =P

It should probably be noted that none of my marine models have ever been painted in the Nova Lords scheme pictured in the first post, so i really am starting from complete scratch in many ways. expect the black and yellow to be more fixed up and varied from model-to-model, much like the Red Corsairs, who all have the same set of colours, just in different locations.

| Re: The Nova Legion marches to war Bare in mind that most of this collection (baring the chaos stuff, which is just bought) is all kits I picked up more than three years ago in my first 3-4 years in the hobby, as an unguided boy who only got a game against my dad with Dark Eldar once in every third blue moon... if I was lucky. However, being of age now and already half way through 2nd year of university, I figured it would be cool to actually get into 40Ks gaming side in a way I'd never really had the chance to do before. Erus, you've got me confused now. I can't have a reputation with army building, painting, modelling, etc as I have never posted one of my own miniatures online. The only thing that comes to mind is the images of the Mark Bedfords 54mm Kroot (which I bought from him on ebay a while back) that made an appearance on the Conclave inquisitor forum... EDIT: also, i've been thinking about getting the Tide Of Spawn apocalypse box (contains 10 Spawn + 10 CSMs), cos i'm in love with the plastic spawn sprue and the tonne of bits are also going to be superb for converting some 54mm mutants. Any thoughts? £60 is a good deal really.

| Re: The Nova Legion marches to war This is just a quick post to say that I shall begin work on this tomorrow, although I am currently unsure whether I will start by doing some painting so that I can finalise the colour scheme, or if I will just get on with building stuff that needs built. And now for the first of many photos that shall grace this topic - these are the boxes of unmade kits that are all a part of this project. It should be noted that I've had the Land Raider, Dreadnought and Blood Claws boxes for at least 4 or 5 years, 6 possibly in the case of the Land Raider. I've had the new Techmarine for about 2 years I believe (I got it for free, but that's a story for a different day). The CSM Army set, Carnifex and Assault Termies were bought in November and finally the Baneblade was a christmas present.

Tomorrow I'll take some pics of what I've done so far for you all to see. Not done any painting this week, so exactly what the colour scheme shall be hasn't been finalised in a material form, but I have it sorted in my head now. Tomorrow you will see: Spawn, Khorne Berserkers, CSMs and possibly something else as well...

Here is a shot of all the built infantry at the moment, this includes all my old SMs - most of which I base coated with Iyenden Darksun foundation paint in the autumn as advanced preparation. The colour scheme on the Terminators at the back was what they used to be like. The Black Templars you can see were bought a number of years back from a friend but never repainted them, unfortunately some of them aren't very well made, but I have a plan in mind to sort that!
