  |  Ornswurl's fightin' furst!!! Thats right A entire RATLING COMPANY!!! This is gonna be the Model and conversion WIP place for them and I also have a thread for the rules developement here- Ornswurl's fursts. Now what i am doing is converting all my special char and others for a change in appearence. All/most of the troops will be reg ratling models unconverted. I am converting Commamder, LTs, SGTs, weapons teams, Snipers, Ect... I also am shortening Russes and Chimeras for the Ratlings. ALL VEHICLES will be custom! Stay tuned !!!

OK well here is a linky to the fluff for the Army. sausage linky No true modeling has been done for the army yet but I have purchased ALL 10 poses (yes 10) of ratlings and 3 hot pot halflings. I am now in the midst of converting a master russ and chimera for a basis for the armor (make it short both ways!!) I also have a idea for the hellhound and mortar teams and will start on them within the month. Stay tuned!!!

OK everyone....The WIP of this thread is still WIP-ing but here are some Ideas I am kicking around and am looking for some input: 1) Chimera/Russ- Now this started out as a Cut down and shorten standard frames, make molds and recast for the vehicle. ...Adv: it LOOKS like a russ/chimera and is easy to pass off as it IS really a russ/chimera. ....DIS: major surgery and casting will take time initially, lotta sculpting going on and such for them ....ALT: FW Krieg centaurs here for Russ and here for chimera Now these will require plasticard to enclose them and make a turrett out of card for the Russ like here while the chimera uses a smaller turret OR open topped with Ratlings shooting out. 2) Rough Riders- my plan is to have them mounted in a modified one of these. removing the "bomb and making a seat for a driver. and a "hunting lance" maybe out of the bottom scanner lens or being held in drivers hand. 3) Heavy weapons- Now these are kinda different. I want to mount them on a tracked chassis from the old 2nd ED Raipier model 2 here with the mortars being a parody of american football quarterback practice with an Ogryn throwing a shell at a "tire" that is the aiming device. other mortar teams will be based on a similar theme. 4) Hell Hounds- Based on a true Chimera frame as I will have Ogryns (all vehicles with Ogryns are a true to form base model) with a flatbed like a basillisk and a large vat that feeds a "superheavy flamer" (im thinking 2 catachan sent flamers) manned by a ogryn. the vat is being filled by 2 Ratlings with fuel cans. 5) Sentinals- Super easy ideas here, use the old "egg" sents and the boxy "chicken" sents with a Ratling pilot. the ratling pilots will have to be sculpted of course to be like the 3rd ED heavy weapon gunners. What are your thoughts and ideas?

And how do you think th FW size up would be for the Ratlings? the centaur holds a gunner,driver track commander and 4 or 6 guys. Do you think it would be big enough to hold a 10 man squad of space hobbits? Im thinking 3 rows of 3 in place of the 4-6 reg troops. this will add to the comedy and transport a squad! and the cyclops, is it big enough to rep a cav model? and small enough to rep a Space hobbit also? I am using the reg base models for anything dealing with Ogryns to rep the durability needed to witstand a Ogryn, and to rep the size needed for them too. good ideas?

| Re: Ornswurl's fightin' furst!!! I really like the Hellhound idea especially making it open topped and such with a little diorama of action going on. As for Centaurs I'm not sure for size since I dont own and ratlings for comparison. I do have dwarfs and a couple hobbits form LoTR if scle pics of those would help. And once again if you buy the FW Centaurs I'd love to take the Kriegans off your hands  ... BvL
