| Hairy Hunter ![]() | Okay folks to discuss some plans in true 40kterra pipe dream style. I've decided to take all 10 of these guys ![]() ![]() And add these decorative style leg plates to them. ![]() Decorative items will e along the lines of runes, lines, skulls, bones and the like. Also thinking of bringing these elements in: ![]() ![]() Damn you Pert! So I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions as ways to be able to do this effectively for space wolves. Cloaks, surely I need some brining in. ![]()

Blog Entries: 5 | GS the little lined bits like Scibor on the greaves and shields (if you have any shields). Then take a sculpting tool and score the runes into the armor plates showing between the lines to where the greaves are about 75% COVERED in runes! I think that would work nicely. And where Scibor uses gems, use wolf skulls and other fetishes.

| Hairy Hunter ![]() | Hmmm, tis what I'm thinking as well. I've got time to plan this out before I get onto actually getting these done. Cloaks, think these guys need them, more like the archeron cloak might work well as I used this guys torso and cloak for the wolf guard battle leader.

| Hairy Hunter ![]() | Hmm, i like it, but I'm not sure it conveys the movement enough. And to boot I've never sculpted a cloak either. Just a thought. would brown stuff make a good alternative to super sculpey as my mold? Previously I've used GS as my molds, but it doesn't have the firmness I think I need for these or the ability to hold the fine details.

Blog Entries: 1 | yes it would. i believe brown stuff cure much harder than GS does so it'd be a better medium for molding i think.

Blog Entries: 5 | Krom, the cloak itself may not have much, but you can easily cut and splice and sculpt new sections into it to convey such (wolfpack has done so on an assault cannon termie in particular). Plus, these bits are fairly common IIRC, so it might save you some valuabel time and effort.

| Hairy Hunter ![]() | Right folks. Double post as I need to attract attention. I need modelling advice on how to carve plasticard. After the infernal Hairy beast and wolfpack managed to change my mind with the armament for my rune priest I need to carve a rune staff. Basically, it's carving a wood grain effect into the plasticard. Has anyone had any experience in this? Tips and tricks. You got any thoughts Hairy as I've sat and watched your use of GS and plasticard skills grow. Ta guys. I'll get pics soon...

Blog Entries: 1 | in a well ventilated room grab yourself a candle, a modelling knife with as long a blade as you can find and a length of plastic rod (if you don't have the rod the stick a couple of thin strips of sheet card together and file them down till they're rod-like). heat the knife in the candle flame and very gently press it into the plastic along the length of the staff. once you have the whole thing scored, very gently file it down to remove the worst of the melt and bob's your uncle! alternatively you can sheath the whole length of the staff in GS and sculpt the detail on. you'll get more control this way and be able to add more detail and correct any mistakes easily, but it'll take longer and probably be a bit more fiddely.

| Hairy Hunter ![]() | Any thoughts on gauge of rod? What scale do you use on your weapon hafts? I found a great model shop near me, there sheet plasticard is some special french stuff designed for full scale heating... might be balls but it could work for the heat sculpting your suggesting. Also what gauge would you advise if I clad in GS? Ta me old mucker
