| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | mm thanks erus. she's doing better, but she's still kinda weak and woozy. my family and TONS of family friends have been over, delivering food, helping out, cleaning, etc. so we've had a lot of the load taken off of us mm so erus, i actually already did use an eldar body-it's an eldar guardian. the guy is supposed to be hecka skinny, and so the only model i really like was the guardian one..so i need a helmetless one :] or did you mean an eldar body for something else ? i'll post more pictures later, but the guy who is represented by the eldar model is rail thin, and kind of showy sometimes, so i'm modelling him after the white marth in super smash melee :] white clothes with red/gold trim :] and a big weapon of course-the storm bolter ! thanks erus :] -ant

| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | okay so hairy has been pestering me nonstop for quite a while now. i have to apologize for the delay, it's been really busy [see some above posts] for me recently, so i've had much less time to mess around with 40k, alas... hmm so here we go modified HB marine>>inquisitor! ![]() ![]() and ![]() i'm not sure i like how the fur turned out on the back side, if you can see it in there. i'll fix it in a little bit...suggestions on how to make it better ? i wanted it like the SW "tabard" that comes on the SW sprue, the one attached to the sergeant torso ? yea ? mm let's see update on servo skull plasmacannon! i added a few more wires as well as a the big energy cell on the bottom side...tell me what you think ! ![]() and the archnemesis of my SM DIY army: ![]() he's got a massive, soul-sucking dark blade and a mutated arm...as well as bionics, so he's got a bit of everything: chaos, human flesh and machine ![]() i doubt i'll ever use him but i decided to show him to you all as a sort of a treat :] i'll update once more by next week for sure, when i get a few more bits from my bits order. i got a sage and a mystic as well, so i'm just missing one more sage and then i think my inquisitorial retinue is pretty much complete! after that, an already ordered powerfist, 2 more custom flamers and a helmetless head for an eldar guardian, i'll be up to 1.5k perfectly :] huzzah! thanks for bearing with me :] -ant

Blog Entries: 1 | not sure about the massively over sized blade but the thing its attached to look interesting... the heavy bolter looks like it could qualify as a psy-cannon! the underslung chain blade is awesome too. the wolf pelt thing actually look pretty good. the only thing letting it down a bit is the weird position, especially around the armpit. looks kinda like he's wearing a wolly waist coat ![]() |

| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | and who says he's not wearing a wolly waist coat ? lol. yea i really am not that happy about it, but i'm thinking of trimming it down a bit anyways...once i get the chance :] i have to mow the lawn first and the HB is going to eventually stand in as a psycannon :] i want to GS a =I= on it soon :] and yea i'll think about extending the hilt somehow. i'm not really gonna use the model ever, so i don't know how much work i'll actually put into him. but maybe soon, i'll be bored and randomly just change him up a bit. edit: actually the sword had a hilt...until some random movement broke it off and i lost it, alas. i'll have to replace that sometime XD thanks for the feedback !

| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well i have yet to get those bits in, but they should be here in a few days time. it's definitely not overnight shipping [i ordered them 2 weeks ago] but the local store gives me 20% off, so i don't mind the wait! anyways, i finished another of the flamers. i was about to buy two of the metal ones, until i realized that i could simply make some. and since somebody, somewhere needs more flamers but doesn't feel like buying bits, i'm including a "how-to" on the flamers i make. so enjoy ! :] on a side note: sorry about all the weird drawings in the background. i use that piece of chipboard [like cereal box material, but 5 ish times thicker] as my cutting mat. and i promise i'm not emo. i just like using the razor blade instead of x-acto/other hobby knives. more control over the cut :] OKAY! tools/bits needed: -hobby knife, some sort of cutting/filing tool. -cutting mat [be safe ! don't cut your mother's table...erus is not the only one with a pointy stick] -a friend or family member that plays IG. really, that makes the making of flamers so much easier than buying them, especially because they will have about a million extra IG flamers and nade launchers, which are the staples of these home-made flamers :] bits: -1 SM flamer, to check for proportions and bits sizes! -1 bolter with a standard clip [ie, not a chaos one with a belt feed] -1 IG flamer -a bamboo/wood toothpick, OR a relatively fat computer wire, about 2 or 3 mm thickness, de-wired. it should be at least 1 cm long. -1 IG 'nade launcher, or other small, cylindrical object [used as the promethium tank] here we go ! mm. the first thing you'll need to do is separate the flamer head from the IG bit. ![]() be careful here, because one of the pipes that run from the stock of the gun to the flamer head will be used later on. then, carefully separate the actual head from the pipes. the bottom one on the IG flamer is the crucial one, be the most careful with that pipe because it's used later. 2 once the head is separate, you'll need to file/trim it down to normal SM flamer head length. it's usually about 1 mm, maybe 2 that you need to remove from the back of the flamer head. file it and compare with a normal SM flamer, make sure the length is correct. ![]() then set this aside. 3 take the bolter, and you'll probably have a little thingy sticking out the side, next to where the spent casings are ejected. also remove the flash supressor, etc, from the front of the bolter. i didn't have to worry about that, because my chapter removes them anyways. hooray for big flashes and loud bangs while shooting at your enemy ! and reduced accuracy! huzzah ! ![]() trim that off, and then make a pair of cuts so that the gun stock above the hand grip is gone [but don't! cut the grip itself off, like so:] ![]() 4. glue one of the tiny pipes into place at the business end of the now cut up bolter, centered at the top of the grip. ![]() this one is tricky, it's such a tiny bit XD 5. take the wire, or toothpick and trim out a section that is equal to the length of the larger pipe on a normal SM flamer. [note: remember to make sure you have a normal flamer around, to check proportions !] cut, trim, place and glue it into place so it looks like this ![]() then attach the flamer head ![]() also, remove the clip, and trim what is left of where the clip went so that it is a nice, straight angle of about 30 degrees. check the pictures for clarity :] 6 take the nade launcher and carefully cut off the barrel. the 'nade casing itself won't be used, set that somewhere else. ![]() ![]() the rest of the 'nade part is a little bit harder to explain, but the pictures should do it. i'll try my best though ! lol ![]() trim off the tip of the barrel! ![]() carefully cut off the squared section of the barrel, and file off the "tracking" on the top of the barrel. and there it is ! :] ![]() :] i don't know if anyone needed to see this, but i felt like posting to make sure everyone knew i'm still alive...and didn't forget about this WIP! cheers -ant

| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | and since i used all of my 12 "credits" on pictures, here is the completed flamer from above, on a jump marine ! ![]() *edit* i don't always do this part. it's optional i guess, but it definitely makes it more realistic :] so you see from above how far the tutorial has gotten. the last step is also one of the trickiest, however. dig out that IG flamer arm that you had from step one, above ![]() the little canister/piping right on the stock of the flamer, carefully file that off. carefully! this is the hardest part. then simply glue it over the casing ejector of the bolter-turned-flamer! ![]() definitely more realistic :]
