an idea for the librarium

i was thinking that the librarium's index could include 1 thread per member on thier personal army. what do you guys think?

It is a nice idea, though i think that will need a different section.


What I had in mind -

We have every army, and every unit and ever chapter, division whatever difference in an army fully detailed and described to the core. Filled with combination suggestions, wargear loadout, tactical advice and so forth.

It would be hard, but if we worked one solid army at a time, it will work?

As far as showing everyone their army, that can be like.. an army showcase area in the hobby section.

hmmm...i think phez' idea is great. definitely a lot of work though. as far as i know a few people [including myself] have posted random parts of theri army's fluff already, in the fluff/fiction part of the forum, but it hasn't yet been standardized, so i suppose it's possible.

but anyways, an army detail thing sounds really cool, especially with wargear and trait advice, etc. i think would be cool.

That sounds like a good idea, but a lot of work. It might be something that could draw more people here as well.

Indeed. I agree with Ikarus, but I'd love to have a sub-section in the Librarium for people to post fully detailed fluff and orgonizational details for their own armies.

I like the idea...I have some fluff written already(Ties that Bind) for one of my WG leaders...(WIP) as for doing the whole army...well that would take some time but a worthwhile venture if done properly...of course the fluff for all the head honchos is already written and that would have to be a summary type overview(i.e. Ragnar and Logan)...but as for the specials without a story line set down by GW...(man that's alot of writing..LOL) It could be done and be a workable thing...just hope the server has room for all these posts...

Anyway, I have to rewrite my fluff, after I lost it, amongst the History of the Imperium Project and an Inquisitor story I'm writing now called Fiends of Chaos. I'm a busy man.

This is definatly a good idea. I like it.

Would have to think of standard headings and a structured way of recording peoples information so it is more uniformed.

Oh, and dont worry about data storage. We have loads of that .

this sounds very kewl. its a nice way to also help bring new folks into the fold as they can see that just putting a force together and trying to win a game isnt all there is to this hobby. it will be alot of work.

possibly:

overall title - army histories & backgrounds

sub titles - each army, ie. chapters/legions & race
(divergent chapters go first under thier mother chapter then if is a numerous chapter gets its own sub-sub title)


also maybe have a stickied topic at the top of the section that has links and/or other references for newer folks to use to help them create thier backgrounds. its nice to say here put your stuff here but some folks dont always know where to go for inspiration or guidelines on what would actually fit for the army. ie chaos worshiping the laughing god.....

maybe give some guidence on what general areas that it would be good to atleast minimally cover (homeworld, general theme/organization, founding/key army characters, etc.)
