Painter? - 40K Terra

Is there anyone up here up to making our own version of this painter, possibly even with more 'wargear' options and maybe modding/porting the program to other races? It has been a vague mention before, but with some talented additions to the staff, and more promising members coming in, i'd like to officially open the project and ask from ideas. I think Cirative can explain a theory of making it.. He tried with me, but i'll leave that to him to wander on by to explain.

Krom, Cag.. I'm looking to you guys for this. If we canget this going, matched with GW colors, and ported to different races, it'd put us on the map.

it's asking a lot i know, but maybe if this comes out on its feet, could we add a coded hexadecimal chart inside of it ? or make it somehow otherwise more user friendly ? :]

hmm on second thought, let's just get the other ideas out first :]

the hex dex chart is easy.. B&C made one, and they can't copy right hex dex codes to GW's colors, so we have a chart!!!

Im working on a Space Marine painter at this very moment. Figured out a way to make it work really easily and simply. No messing around with numbers, or trying to get that exact colour every time or waiting for the image to refresh.

I am also not going to be using the crazy amount of colours that the B&C one uses, but this one instead:

But without the gradients at the bottom. That will allow you to get the same colour quicker and easier and there is still 255 to choose from.

Dude! Kicks ASS!!! Only problem I notice is when you select black for armor color, all the detail lines (like fingers, armor detail) are lost. Plus, there is no way to color the 'soft armor' between the joints and such (good example is the strip between forearm and bicep that is perpendicular to the elbow armor)

Yea, OK I will make the joints colourable too.

The way I have coded it also makes it really easy to have loads of different races in there. So eventually Im hoping to get all of them in there.

That is also why I need peoples help. I need some people to produce an accurate figure for all the other races. Just in with lines, no shading or shadows, or if you have and images that follow that description will be just as good. That will mean I can just 'trace' them in and save me a load of work.

I don't, but I think Steve was working on a Exarch for the custom avatar, maybe ask him for Eldar advice... Looking good though. How hard will it be to add in wargear like B&C?

Right, well got a chainsaw appearing now. Just click on the chainsaw button on the right to toggle on/off. You can also colour the weapon and the hand.

Bolt pistol.. Bolter... Maybe some heavy weapons (if people want to test a devastator paint scheme). Possibly a jump pack and or flamer/plasma pistol?
