how about the notion of having a painting contest within the site?

Sounds like a very cool Idea to me. tho, im not going to win, my models are cool but...meh. i dont care, it would give me a good incentive to get tht sister of battle done or the vostroyan sniper thats been hanging around my desk for 4 months now!

the prize could be bragging rights or if the contestants who enter pay a small entry fee and the winner gets the cash.

well, if i get that digi cam for xmas or if lucas finally remembers to bring his into the store, i've got a few models i could possibly enter...

so, i guess the main question is, should we do say 2-3 categories??? for example, say single model, squad & large model?!

I would enter, not bothered about the cash thing, the glory would give me motivation (though I reckon DC is favourite!) but we have got some ace painters on here, it would be fun!!

Yeah we could have bronze, silver, gold catagory. Put yourself in one and see how you go. Say if you enter bronze, the top 3 get promoted to silver next time? Mods could have the right to place people in a different cat if they think they are trying to (or being modest!) put themselves in an easier catagory for a win.

On that note, I don't think models hat you've done already should be allowed. Only a model painted during this time of the contest. How do we know? take a picture halfway through with a newspaper slip showing the date.

We definitely need to set some ground rules for this, just so that everyone regardless of skill can at least start at a level plane. Like a single minature with little to no physical modifications. After all its suppose to be a painting contest, not a conversion.
