Default Project: The Primarchs and 20 First Founding Legions

Ok, the first run of this was a bit of a hiccup. Their was some blatant wiki copying and such. Nothing is wrong with Wiki, but it shouldn't be the MEAT of the article. What I am doing here now is bringing the old project to a close, and re-vamping it with expanded scope.

Goals: To have full fledged, in depth articles on each Primarch (with conjecture allowed, when noticeably marked out as so!). This will also be accompanied by a twin like article of their corresponding Legion, with the history of it from the founding until the current day (BL books are allowed as sources, BTW).

What I need now is two other valiant men (or a woman is she is alive) to step forward and volunteer to assist me in developing the standards of this project more fully.

So please, if you wish to assist, step forward and say so. Also, this isn't just a name recognition contest... It's almost like an interview... Why should you be chosen, what can you offer to the project?

Please note this project is not in the stages for Article applications, just co-admins of it.

*nods* I had, and others agreed, thought you would be a good member. But for fairness sake, rattle off some qualifications dear Cpt.

Dan, I'd be happy to have you help me and whoever fills the 2 other spots organize. I wouldn't want to place the burden of one of those spots on you, as we will really be nothing but quality control. But we will need help with organization.

If you need any changes to the Librarium Forum layout, or any other stuff like that then just ask. I cant really help with the fluff aspect at the moment though, quite busy at the moment.

Well, I'm here to write, and, other stuff of similiar actions.

You want qualifications? I'll show you qualifications:

Updated and edited several wikipedia articles, including but not restricted to Warhammer 40,000 articles which needed revamping.
Have so far wrote 7700 words of size12 TIMES NEW ROMAN font (14 pages) of Imperial History up to the conclusion of the Great Scouring.
Wrote an extensive article on the God-Emperor of Mankind.
Have wrote (but not fully posted) a 74200 word novel called Fiends of Chaos.

*nods* You'll be one of the first we contact for work/submissions. But at this time, like stated, the posistions being asked for are strictly quality control, etc.. And this would imply editing articles, etc.. So by necessity, it's best for those who sign on to this 3-4 person project to be a type of MOD. Thanks though m'man.

Well I think that we should have a request forum within the Librarium sub forum. In that forum, any member can recommend or request an article to be made on a subject.

After that, a librarian (or many Librarians working together) will volenteer to work on making the article. They will post a draft version on another forum in the Librarium. We can call it 'Article development' or something like that. In that thread the librarians discuss the article and find out what is wrong with it. That means that all the information that will be in the article will be checked by other librarians.

Then once the librarians have agreed on the validity article, then the final version can be posted in an 'Article Release' forum. Here the Lexomechanics check the article for Spelling & Grammer. Then I will add the finished article into the Librarium Database.

So, to sumarise:

¦
\/

I enter it into the Librarium

What format are you looking for?

A fact based step by step history of the Primarch and their acheivements, ie: on this date they did this and on this date they did that...?

Or

A more Biographical format ie: As a child subject A grew up amongst the people of planet B, but despite their care and love he grew into a distant and cold person....

A slight string of shoddy articles prompted us to orgamnize this project better. Biographical format would be great, and I agree on the flow chart Cag presents. So, any idea of how the 1st 20 Legions should be done?

are you talking about pulling info out of bl books, index astartes (not sure what other gw sources there would be beyond these two as i've not tried to go into further depth prior to this idea)?

biography wise might be a bit hard as where would you get the info from unless you made it up?? maybe in a format similar to the index astartes articles/books of a few years ago?? except with much more info and depth. and possiblly with an option/ability to link in to stories dealing with that legion/chapter? and maybe open it up for collaboration with the artists amoung us for artwork (cg based or pen/pencil work) to be added in or linked to for specific points in the article?

i like the idea about doing the stories and fluff behind the legions and would like to assist (atleast) with doing the iron warriors, 1000 sons and maybe iron hands if i could. i'm no speed typer and RL does have a big demand on my time.

however i am very interested in reading and learning more of the fluff for my favorite legions/chapters.

just my 2 cents worth.

thanks

grip

By biography, we mean the format I wrote the article on the God-Emperor.

Maybe if you want the volenteers for the primarchs so far are:

Lord Commander Erus: Fulgrim and Vulkan
Lord Commander Erus's friend James: Night Haunter
Captain Phez: Leman Russ, Roboute Guilliman, Sanguinius, Corax
Me (BrainDeleted): Ferrus Manus and Alpharius
Icarus Athrasuriel: Horus
Templar Mikeel: Rogal Dorn
Dan296:
Angron, Jaghatai Khan, Lion El'Johnson
GriplionGremlin: Magnus the Red

Are you planing on reassigning all the primarchs or using this list from the previous thread?

Reassigning most likely. We will keep this list in mind, but for those like Captain Phez, we will spread all of those names out amongst the other writers.

Just a quick note...besides the BL novels and other fluff materials like the Adeptus Astartes...there are also the older Dexs which offer a lot of background info on the primarchs of that particular chapter...and let us not forget wikipedia.com...there is a whole section there on 40K...

Because, I want a fairly large bit for each, and I think it would just be too cluttered to combine them on each.

So.. two separate articles per is agreeable?

If so... We need to agree on what sources are acceptable.

Index Astartes definably because I own them all and they are my major source of information and The SM and CSM codexs of course...but I don't know any of the older versions of these codexs have good fluff?

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head
