| Trooper ![]() | My younger brother who is just starting the Hobby (i tried pushing BT, but he wanted Ultra Marines! lol) actually came up with this one and I thought it was pretty formidable. What do you all think?? Troops --------- Tactical Squad 7 Marines Heavy Bolter Plasma Gun -120pts Scout Squad 5 Scouts Missile Launcher -75pts Fast Attack ----------- Land Speeder Typhoon (w/h-bolter and Typhoon missiles) -70pts Heavy Support ------------- Devastator squad 5 Devastators 4 Heavy Bolters -135pts Total-400pts My only concern is lack of anti-tank, but for 400pts there shouldn't be much armor to worry about any way. | All I will say is be prepared to buy a new codex soon... the list is good for Combat Patrol... but, once he's got that down, quickly move up to 750-1000pts, its a lot more fun having more models on the table.

| it's not bad at all for a first list! the one main thing to watch out for is the unit numbers; odd-numbered units are bad. very, very bad as they; a) give up victory pts easier b) lose their 'scoring unit' status quicker always aim for even numbers in a unit... 4th edition is all about the mission objective and 95%+ of the time, that means you need 'scoring units' to claim stuff. what i'd recomend, is dropping the speeder down to a basic heavy bolter, dropping 1 heavy bolter from the devi squad and finally bump each unit up by 1 model... anti-tank isn't too much of a problem in 400pts patrol games as the heaviest stuff you'll face are things like chimeras and similar... the plasma gun can take care of even av12! you might even want to drop the heavy bolter from the tacticle squad so they keep moving every turn??? cheers!
