| okay, so because i'm very likely going to pick-up that mystic assault box for the 5 'fexes, here's the 'revised' version of my "ultiment gribbly list of doom!" and yes, it got bigger too! i've gone for simple duplication all 'round... so that's a total of 90 models, including the flyrant + 4 'fexes. tried to keep all the big gribblies fairly cheap, (aside from the flyrant!) while i expect to hear many cries of "cheese" to begin with once people see it, i hope that it turns out to be a fairly fun army to play against? the 'fexes aren't tricked out so it's more or less that there's simply 4 large bullet catchers on the table! anyways, enjoy! | ya really don't need rend-clws on a 'fex...they're monsterous creatures. If the Nurgs are for hth, i'd drop the rend-clws and glands and go with 2 sets of scy-tals, spine banks, and the miasma...@ 12" get 2 STR 6 attacks w/ "hit" re-rolls followed up with a 5 dice charge w/ no armor saves...always fun! The TL barbs on the reaps gives you just 1 shot with a re-roll if it misses, i'd suggest making them long ranged snipers, keep the En-Sen(BS)...but, put a barbed strangler/venom cannon combo on them...both have 36" rng and you still get the STR 8 big blast, but the VC also give you 2 STR 10 shots...good for taking out problem targets, ie. heavy weapon teams. All that reaper fun for 138 pts. On the Flyrant, I'd drop the En-Sen and miasma and take Warp Blast...never know when ya gotta bust a tank...and thats perfect for a flyrant...keep him hopping all over the board behind cover! And the warriors...need 'em for synapse, but damn if they ever survive a game...without having wings to move 'em fast...i always go bare bones with little mods and get as many as possible. Figure less than half will ever get close enough to actually assault...so i kit 'em out for ranged combat...spitters and scy-tals with a ven-can for a lil extra pop... synapse is gonna be the tricky thing...IB only helps some of the time... good luck and happy hunting!

Blog Entries: 13 | Vorafex the flyrant is monstrous it eats tanks for brekkie. The list however is a world of pain, i couldnt shoot all that stuff down before you got to me so its hell for guard tau etc. I agree with Vora rending on fex's is not needed there monstrous, try putting a twin linked Venom cannon on a heavy support fex there quite good at neutralising tanks.

a) any 6's to-hit are auto wounds so there's no chance of those dreaded 1's turning up! b) they're 5pts less that a 2nd set of talons meaning i could get the spine banks fo a nasty surprise! the only thing about the rending claws is that you can't combine them with the TMC status against vehicles; you either use the rending rules or the monstrous creature rules... i dislike venom cannons as they can't cause penetrating hits... the only time they out-preform a barbed strangler is against av14 at which point the cannon can glance 50% of the time while the strangler is only 1/6th of the time! still, considering how the vehicle damage rules will change in the future, i think we're going to see alot of those venom cannons become pretty useless! cheers!
