| Awright, thought I'd run this past 40kterra before I buy 4 broadsides... I'm going to try it out with proxies either way. Its a tau list with no vehicles- I don't like playing with only 1 tank as it gets destroyed really quick by whatever can. Its better to give multiple targets to your opponent to chew on, and am afraid to take only one devilfish. thus I probably have speed issues. Heres the list. HQ#1 Commander Swiftwing (shas'o) -Cyclic Ion Blaster -Shield Generator -Vectored Retro Thrusters +Stimulant injectors HQ#2 Commander Hardscale (Shas'el -Airbursting Fragmentation Projector -Shield Generator -Positional Relay +Iridium Armor Plates Elites #1 Crisis Team of 3 Shas'vre -Plasma Rifle -Missile Pod -Targeting array +Hardwired Target Lock +Hardwired Multi Tracker +Bonding Knife 2x Shas'ui -Burst Cannon -Plasma Rifle -Multi Tracker Elites #2 Crisis Team of 1 Shas'ui -Fusion Blaster -Missile Pod -Targeting Array Elites #3 Crisis Team of 1 Shas'ui -Fusion Blaster -Missile Pod -Targeting Array Heavy Support #1 Broadside Team of 2 Team Leader -Advanced Stabilization System -Smart Missile System -Railgun +Hardwired Target Lock +Shield Drone Shas'ui -Advanced Stabilization System -Smart Missile System -Railgun Heavy Support #2 Broadside Team of 2 Team Leader -Advanced Stabilization System -Smart Missile System -Railgun +Hardwired Target Lock +Shield Drone Shas'ui -Advanced Stabilization System -Smart Missile System -Railgun Troops #1 Fire Warrior Team of 12 Shas'ui +Bonding Knife +Markerlight +Gun Drone +Marker Drone Troops #2 Fire Warrior Team of 8 Shasui +Bonding Knife Troops #3 Fire Warrior Team of 8 Shasui +Bonding Knife Troops #4 Fire Warrior Team of 8 Shasui +Bonding Knife Even If I'm not crossing the battlefield quickly, this should be very mobile and flexible. I have swiftwing and the two monats deep strike, leaving hardscale to bring them in quicker with the Positional Relay. Hardscale will be able to weather a few hits but because of the threat of lascannons you plop him behind a terrain piece, and start large blasting infantry. The two Broadside teams can fire at four different targets, so you can punch a tank with one and have the other SMS something, not wasting firepower. Plus they can move, if slowly. The 3 8 man FW's are there simply to capture objectives (if they can get there) and because of the Bonding knives they have to be obliterated or flee before they will cease being an annoyance. They also have pretty good firepower for such a small squad. The 12 man FW captures objectives even better, but they have good marking power which screws with things on many levels (my favorite- make them lose cover saves!), and technically its a 14 man squad. What do you guys think?

| Wow you u actually should consider vehicles, there great. Vehicles are target priority- yes but their still great. I cant tell you how many times a hamer head has !@#$ me up. With vehicles (if your playing with area terrain) then you put them behind the terrain and they shoot through it and there obscured. You should really take a hammerhead. Still if you dont want to play vehicles then you have to take A LOT OF CRISIS SUITS!!! thats like the best way to run the army. Vehicles can also be used as a distraction, so i recomend since your not using them then you should get some Kroot. Heres what you do, even though there terrible in close combat, you have such a great amount of them then if you get them locked in close combat they can distract a squad for 1 or 2 or even 3 turns. Again you should really consider a hammerhead. I also think you should make a biger fire warrior squad, there beter in big numbers

| I actually own 2 hammerheads... this was an experiment. I can see taking out a FW squad to add to two existing ones. As far as the suits are concerned, what do you think of the tactics on the Broadside, Crisis and Commander Teams? I thought it was cheesy, but give me input! -Lucky

| its really sweet. Get rid of the deep strike i wouldnt do that, and make yourself less mobile. Really i think the best thing you should do is more crisis suits, other than that ur good to go

| i like the list but you dont have a counter punch that is a speedy unit to plug a hole im not a broadside guy but i like the Adv.S.S. on the broadsides i think you could rip alot of that wargear off your suits (they have decent survivability without them) and if they do die thats booku VP for your opponent but you can boost your FW squads with the recovered points but i think its a good list

| tau are nothing without their mobility. the beauty of vehicles is being able to quickly react to changeing fronts during the game. With vehicles you can transport your firewarriors quickly along with providing them protection. You need your moblility to keep your army moving otherwise you'll get your !@#$ kicked by the blood angels. And all of the other assaulty armies!!!

| not if you are spaced out correctly those assaulty armies do have a fatal flaw they have to assault with propper spacing you can bring weapons to bear while they move toward their next assault target
