Default things that go well with bikes...?

soooooooo i'm thinking of an all-bike [more or less...] army, but i'm wondering what goes well with bikes. i'll probably have a few squads of scouts or vet marines or something.. :] sooo...suggestions ? maybe termies in an LRC? a bunch of termies in an LRC? it seems to expensive though : / maybe dreads ? still too expensive... alas.

help, please? :]

Try taking a look at the White Scars. They have some cool things. Great bike army. If you don't like the fluff, make your own army and have them counts as. Scouts work well, as they can advance quickly, but vets might not (no bikes, and no way to make them move quicker except expensive transports.). Plus, the White Scars either have a rule or special character that lets his command squad be mounted on bikes, if I remember right! Thats just my suggestion though. I would recommend land speeders and/or scouts. Or deepstriking termies, with some well dispersed teleport homers throughout your bike squads. Attack bikes are important to remember, and I think in white scars you can take scout bikers!

5 bikes, 1 plasmagun,

5 bikes, 1 plasmagun

scout squad 1:
8 scouts, 1 HB

scout squad 2:
8 scouts, 1 HB
[109]

troops total:658

fast attack:
land speeder tornado: HB/AC

scout bike squad 1: 4 bikes
[100]

scout bike squad 2: 4 bikes
[100]

fast attack total: 280


army list total: 1009

anyways, i was thinking termies, but they don't quite go well with the chapter fluff. i noticed that i'm pretty low on anti-tank as well, not sure what to do about that, although i can't imagine that i would run into anything too huge in a 1k game, but i might be surprised haha

i thought about white scars and ravenwing, but i decided to go with my DIY army. as for vets, maybe, because they are allowed infiltrate and my chapter's fluff is all about infiltrating. we'll see though, i might just stick to more scouts.

is there a rule somewhere that keeps certain marine armies from taking scout bikes though? i wasn't aware of that :|

for scout bikes? i don't think so. be swift as the wind is bike related, allowing a player to have normal marine bikes as elites or troops [or, arguably, fast attack]

no big deal though, probably just a little confusion :] thanks for your input though erus !

Assault squads would be a good complement to a bike army- they've got the speed to keep up with the bikes and lend a punch in combat where your small units of expensive bikes might be little vulnerable if they get bogged down.

mm thanks baron spikey. i'm thinking of using assaults, i have 8 of them lying aroung with nothing to do, not to mention a jump pack chappie or two :] haha. they are expensive points wise though, only 3 points off from a full fledged bike w/ scout...hmm, decisions, decisions...haha
