40kTerra COMMUNITY RULES & GUIDELINES:


40kTerra.com is a place where hobby enthusiasts, and gamers alike come together to discuss all things Games Workshop and other game systems. However, there are rules and guidelines to be used and kept in mind when posting and using the Forums that all members should abide by, including staff.

Essentially, the forums is a meeting place for all people around to discuss about the Hobby and Games. Whatever it may be, painting to finding out how to kill a certain enemy, this is where its at. Our forums is cut up into many different sections that are designated for whatever specific topic it is named after, or in some cases, read the descriptions if you still have no clue. Please try to keep postings on topic for each forum.

Knowing that there are many gamers and hobby fanatics just like you, all over the world, we want this place to be the sole place to provide a fun and great community. To better insure that we ask that every member to be respective to anyone on the forums. We hope not to have too much flaming going on. If you disagree, just say why you disagree and just discuss it respectfully. Those that abuse this, will get their post removed, and may suffer the wrath of the staff!!

So keep this place clean and great. Thank you for reading and being part of the community. Here are the guidelines:



Posting Rules:

Respect - When posting on 40kTerra, refrain from using language that may conflict to a problem. We do not tolerate any racial, personal, sexual, or any forms of harassment or topics that are considered taboo. This is a place for anyone to come and enjoy, so lets keep it that way.

Not Tolerated Language:

• Profanity
• No Racism, Sexism, Prejudice, Sexual & Abusive Language
• Libel, Defamation, Hate Speech (if you have personal issue tell staff or resolve via PM)
• Personal Attacks

Moderated Language: (Please refrain from)

• Refrain from excessive talking in 1337 speak (ex. 1337 h4x0rz , etc..)
• Refrain from excessive Texting/Instant Messenging Chat - (Ex. 'LOL', 'ROFL', 'STFU' etc..)

Courtesy - When posting on 40kTerra, we ask that you be courteous to your readers, and to other members.

• No Spamming
  
  • Spamming includes the intentional repeat of posting with intentions of getting attention, increasing post count, or things that make the forum messy. This is NOT tolerated.

• NO SOLICITATIONS or ADVERTISEMENTS

• No Thread Bumping
  • If you have a thread that hasn't been responded to, then just wait for a response. You cannot post on a thread with intentions of kicking it back up to the top, without a legitimate constructive comment.

• REFRAIN FROM DOUBLE POSTING
  • Posting Consecutively is looked down upon in most cases.

• REFRAIN FROM NECRO-POSTING
  (aka Dead Thread Revival)
  

2) This place is not for personal or business advertisements. If you wish to advertise on the boards, please PM the admins or e-mail @ 40kterra@gmail.com for further information. Posts from individuals or companies for commercial purposes will be removed. Linking to other sites directly is not allowed, though we accept links in signatures.



7.) All the rules may be changed, modified and utilized at the Admin/Adeptus team discretion at any time.

**Not following the Community Guidelines in the Forums will result in your posts being removed; further offences will result in disciplinary actions by the staff.

I think we should also mention double posting and double threads.

and get around to making a list of accepted abriviations/net-speak for use in posts...
things like;
lol (laugh out loud)
iirc (if i recall/remember correctly)
along with rules covering the accepted use of hobby slang...

This is what the rules say for dead threading:

No continuing of dead threads unless you have a valid contribution to make to the discussion, irrelevant of the age of the thread. If a thread has been over a 4 days without a reply, then you may post an additional post saying "Bump" ONCE.
