Here at 40kTerra, forward movement is something we strongly believe in. We are here to provide you 40k players the best online community experience possible, and to do so, we must strive for improvement.

LOGO - W.I.P.

To start off this thread, I am going to tell you that we need more outreach. We need to be known, and have a stronger presence. To do so, 40kTerra will be getting a new Logo design. (Either by a professional or by one of our own).

So we need ideas and concepts for any LOGO DESIGN. IT MUST NOT COPYRIGHT!

Our concept lies on the lines of something like this:

But using the background Aquila is against copyright, so if we were to remake the logo, we would have the design more embellished and customized to our own website. So submit any ideas to me, or other staff.

T-shirts - W.I.P.

This also means that T-shirts will be made in process now after we get this logo finished. Hopefully it can be done before a few gaming events can occur. We are trying to push this out, and see who is interested. While we do not have exactly the design, we are going to tally up who is interested. Content Content - Content is King.

We need tacticians, article writers, yes we need all of you now. We need any article on any army, any model, any unit. Basically all you have to write about is either the tactics with using that unit, or army, or the fluff behind them. Please submit these articles to the Article Submissions forum area. The staff will then reformat the article to 40kTerra style, and may edit some words and such. All credit will be given to you, and while we have no real incentive yet, we give you thanks and appreciation for helping the Imperium.
We need articles on anything 40k - submit them to Article Submissions.

shame about the aquila bit. surely he imperial eagle is not GW property? im sure the romans would have something to say about that...

ive go some LatD tactics written somewher eon on my old PC, illsee about polishing them up and submitting them.

mm this stuff looks great. if i suddenly come up with some idea for the logo i'd post it as soon as possible, but i won't have scanner access [or very much consistent computer access] for a good while, but i've been trying to visit at least a few minutes every 1 or 2 days here...looking forward to seeing this expansion. it's great to be a part of 40kterra :]

How about using the origional one headed Aquila?

It would still look the part and GW shouldn't be able to say a word to us about it.
It was the Romans who came up with it after all.

The way the gentlemen designed it works is, if we can think of a phrase to put on it and tell him what it is, he can. And yes,that quote has been worked onto this logo, if I can find the file I will post links.

the new logo looks pretty kewl folks. i'm for it. especially if we get the quote on there.
maybe in the future (but hopefully not untill the 40th millenium) we can possible offer something that includes the general site logo and something oriented to each army that doesnt infringe on GWs "intellectuall property" (sorry i feel they go too far with it). perhaps we can coordinate with the person who created the new logo and see if they can create a pic oriented with each army that doesnt open us up to a lawsuit.

i've been out of touch for a month or so (visiting family in japan) and was hoping to see more come of the primarch novellas (spelling). am i just missing them somewhere else?

Yea these are all great ideas. Im assuming that the shirt will be black? duh? ha

Anyways there is much debate on whether or not to make it customizable. I think that we should either A) jsut release the basic shirt and see how sales do then release the next one, or B) release both, and let the buyers decide. Have the basic shirt design then have the option to make it customizable.

my two cents.

Btwm seeing how the Chaos Mark is under the Aquila maybe a quote being "Heresy grows from with in" or something

As far as my understanding goes.

If the image is self-created, and does not represent the shape of the aquilla, or copies the design, it is fine.

In this case, we have mutilated ,or should we say transformed our own design.

i like the logo, but i think it would be nicer if the arrows were better incorporated into the eagle, if you know what i mean.

i think i see where DC is going with this. how about making the wing tips into the points from the choas star thus making the aquialla seem to be turning into the chaos star. that or change the imprint on the chest of the eagle from the diamond thingy to a chaos star....

just my take on his ideas.

If I see Ben today, i'll let him know that. I'll also send him a picture of the Aquilla and Chaos Star. He's training some new techs on CSS and other such, so he might be busy, but he'll be ready by Sunday atleast.

I was thinking more of the 'message of the day' subscripts...most will not fall under CP law as they are copies from elsewhere...unless there is a personal copywrite somewhere that I am unaware of...but as far as GW copywriting all those little phrases I don't believe that is the case...so...as long as we can provide a source outside the GW genre for them then they are public domain...and that means we can use what ever we like
