Staff Revisions - Update

Note: This system is further to change at will. This is the basic outline map and public notice as the Administration re-works the system. Do not panic.


It has been called upon by the Imperial Administration that our moderation team will be receiving revisions.

The Reasoning:

Back when we were still in heavy developmental and conceptual phases, and all still new at our jobs, we needed the ability to mirco-manage and such. Our organization and staff was themed such, knowing it would one day run into a clash when we started to grow, but we also knew it was the best way to keep us organized in the early stages. I don't think any of the founders anticipated such a heavy change though, I think most of us expected it to be able to grow or change with slight emphasis shifts, as it has proven it won't.

With the growth (and it keeps growing!) of the forum, comes the need for less micro managing and the like, and more for wide swept, quick reaction reflex style of management. Given we are so large and are post count and regular posters are growing and continue to do so, we need to manage less area by area, and more more forum wide.

If you are unhappy with our decision, then talk to me personally via PM. We are moving onto a new system pushing to emphasize overall forum participation in new ways. (Check below for more details).

Staff Position VS. User group

Staff Position: Members who jobs will just regulate the forums.
EXAMPLE: PRIMARCH = ADMIN


Usergroups: Members who will join a special interest group that will help the forum. Most Usergroups will have badges notating the jobs.

EXAMPLE: Imperial Ambassador, Lodge Members

So if you are a member, and you want to help make sure the forum runs 'fine' then the Staff position is what you would be looking for.

If you are a member and you want to be INVOLVED with the website and be a greater part of our community, then USERGROUPS is more of what you can be looking into.

Re-defined High Lord -

The High Lord is a STAFF Position. They will Moderate the Forums.

The High Lords ensure the consistent flow of the forum overall. They will watch over everything and make sure all the rules are followed. They will essentially be more of the 'common' stay of the staff. Their jobs are simply here to help the community work in a smooth manner.

Re-defined Arbites Role -

Arbites will be a USERGROUP position.

Experts members in their field who will supervise their specialized section. They are under the supervision of the High Lord. They will be helpers of single, or a few multiple forums, and have the ability to clean-up inappropriate posts in those sections.

USERGROUPS & STAFF POSITIONS DO NOT HOLD FAVORITISM & ELITISM.

A Usergroup is not a position of Eliteness, nor is the staff. These are just ways you can get 'involved' with 40kTerra other than being a member. These are essentially jobs.

So my position is more of an enforcement one, patrolling the site and cutting away dead/nonsensical posts, and disciplining those members who break the rules. Whilst the Arbites focus on helping their specific sections, bringing problems to the High Lords if they see one but otherwise the 2 roles are now officially divorced?

But yes, to answer Baron, the positions are almost wholly divorced now, except for the fact being an Arbite does have power in their forum, but should only use it as a stop gap until a more permanent solution is done. High Lords are the mainstay and the muscle now.
