Blog Entries: 3  |  Update on What is happening. [Update] Hello Terrans, We are proud to announce that 40kTerra is running 99% efficient once again! HOPEFULLY, though we might see some run downs.. We are sorry for the technical issues we had to face, our whole administration team had to sort out all the business and what not and jump around in scramble to get our site back up as quick as possible. From this difficulty, we have found the source of error to lie within our very own FLASHCHAT. In fact it slowed down our servers immensely. So we are going to have to take off our flashchat program until further notice or replacement arrives. If you are lurker, or a ex-40kTerran member, we welcome you back to our 620+ members and growing base. We are improving our community and hope that you are there to be a part of it. Thanks all, this is an informational Email, not spam to all those who are signed up with 40kTerra. The 40kTerran Administration Team.

| NO MORE FLASHCHAT!?!?!?!?!?! dam the evil imperium of man!!!! i shall have my Revenge!!!!!!! im glad the site is back up. seriously, ther is no substitute. i looked and looked, and nothing was even neerly as good. glad everything is worked out. any word as far as if we will be able to fix or get another chat program?

Blog Entries: 3 | This is temporary, and due to low sleep a full length guide is NOT in the cards tonight or tomorrow most likely. Go here: http://www.mirc.com/get.html Download the file from a link that states a location vaguely near you (same continent, i'm not sure what the locale impacts, I think download speed?) Run the installer. Put in a name when you run the program, a random name, and when/if you are prompted for a network, choose WebChat if you can. Once in, (you may need to change your nick/add '_' liek I had to) type /join #40kTerra. Password is 'terra'. I am now lookign for a web based browser applet/more user friendly IRC app that lets you use IRC , as mIRC is a 30 day trial and such. mIRC is also infamous for being rather cumbersome interface wise. Will update this thread if I find a better client. Post questions/difficulties, I will do the best to help!

Blog Entries: 3 | OK! UPDATE!!!! MUCH EASIER CLIENT FOUND!!! Ok! Found a MUCH easier client!!!! http://www.xchat.org/ DL and install this! The interface will prompt you for a basic SN and variations(in case yours is taken. anything goes, except for spaces. And of course, our channel does NOT allow profanity, please use your forum sn), and a real name, which you can fill in w/ gibberish. It will also have a scroll menu for networks to join. This dosen't really matter, so select 'AccessIRC' (for ease of purpose!). Next up, check/click the box under the scroll menu labeled 'Skip network list on startup.' Once that is done, click the connect button, it'll even have a little power plug + socket icon. It'll log you in, and from now on you don't have to muck w/ choosing a network!!! Once you connect, it will pop up with a little menu, with channel selection. |
