Therein lies our problem. The staff should have the authority to decide this themselves, at least for the likes of librarians and arbites.

Doubt it. 40K Terra is in dire need of more staff, so the absolute worst thing that the current staff could do is hold off the decision. I also doubt that our staff has the worst in mind for 40K Terra.

We wanna make sure the choices are the right ones and that these people are a good fit and can work as a TEAM!!. This will help Terra stay strong and grow.Personaly i wouldnt add anyone without consulting the other staff and getting there opinion's,this is not a one man show it is a Team effort. I'm not objecting to consulting other staff, but the only positions that need to be held off for that kind of consent are primarchs, high lords and ad-mech. The rest have very, very limited responsibility and could probably be delegated without that much fuss.

The reason we have senior staff like primarchs is to try and streamline the process and reduce the number of things Ikarus needs to handle so that he can focus on the site. Hate to constantly play devil's advocate here *shrugs* but its not going to make a difference anyway.

Arbrites are supposed to represent what the rules stand for and just...general good will towards all. Don't think that arbrites have little responsibility. They get to weigh in just as a Primarch or High Lord would on any and all issues.

No offense but you aren't on the staff so how would you even know?

I'm not a Staff member, or even a Moderator, I will say, however, that the dissention in these ranks is disturbing, to say the least. I joined this site because it was friendly. I'm an old Son of a Biotch who's stuck with these little plastic men (and metal chicks) since I picked up Rogue Trader at a hobby shop in 1989 (There were no GW stores in the US then). I bought my first box of Rogue Trader Beakie Marines for $9.95. That was almost twenty years ago. There was no Internet then. We had to find our games, and our gaming friends the hard way, by actually playing the game. And, way back when, we cherished the contacts we made for the sake of this game. I sent actual USPS snail mail to people, letting them know how I was doing, and what my Army was up to. Now, with all the instant gratification of the World Wide Web, we sometimes forget that we are still dealing with people. Personally, I have a job. I work 40-60 hours a week to put food on my table, and pay for the things to which my family and I have become accustomed. Some of you are in the same boat. Work, and eat, and sleep, and a little play. Some of you are accustomed to having mommy and daddy pay for everything, and all you have to do is bring home B's and C's on your report cards, and mommy and daddy are happy with you, and they take you to the GW store, and buy you whatever you want. I wish it were like that in my life. I've learned a valuable lesson from life: I must have patience. If I want to get a raise from my boss, I have to work hard, and have patience. Websites are like that too, because you are dealing with people. Not everyone has the same agenda as you have. Some folks work a lot, as I do. Some folks have school, and exams (ask any High School senior in the US at this moment). Some folks have other things going on in their lives, that don't include this website. Have faith, Terrans.
