Default Jaghati Khan

Jhagtai Khan - Rules

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
7 6 6 6(7) 5 5 5 10 2+/3+

Independent character

Wargear: Vengeance Lance, Sabre of Unity, Frag Grenades, Primarch Artificer Armour, Primarch Iron Halo, Swift Death

SPECIAL RULES

Vengeance Lance: The construction of the Vengeance Lance in the forges of Terra was overseen by Jaghatai Khan to ensure it corresponded to his exact needs. Fully 15' in length it enabled the Khan to outreach his opponents on the charge in to combat.
Counts as a Master-Crafted two-handed Power Weapon that grants +1 Strength & +1 Initiative but can only be used in the 1st round of combat. (Note: can't be used if the Primarch is charged himself)

Sabre of Unity: One of the Emperor's many gifts to the Khan was this Sabre, modeled after the swords commonly used by the Tribesmen of Chogoris, and dedicated by the Khan to the promise of uniting the Galaxy under his father''s rule.
Counts as a Master-Crafted Power Sword that grants +D3 attacks.

Armor of the Steppes: In the days before the Emperor, the Khan strode the plains on a great war horse, armed in a suit of banded mail sewn with discs of glittering metal designed to un-nerve the opponent.

When the Emperor came from the stars and raise the Khan to the head of the White Scars, the Khan was famed for staunchly holding on to his adopted homeworld's ways.

This included his taking the careworn and oft repaired armor of the steppes, and presenting it to a bewildered Fabricator General. His request was simple. 'Let me ride again in the tradition of my people, but as my fathers son'.

Months went by, and the Khan was bonded to his Legion before leaving Terra, the Khan stopped on Mars to have his Legion outfitted and supplied for the Crusade. Their he was fitted and armored in a suit of artificier armor from the hands of the Fabritcator General himself. Loving skill had went into the cuirass, the greaves, and all the armor. For in each line, every stud, and every plate were etched the skill and style of Chogoris. Not a man of great words, but loud actions, the Khan embraced the Fabricator General in the wrist-to-elbow handshake of a warrior to a peer, an honor for any mortal.

In game terms, the Armor of the Steppes grants a 2+ armour save.

Stallions Crest: This is a mysterious adornment, and it is not known whence it came. It is merely a crest of horse hair, flowing to the Khans back, affixed by a brass disk and leather strap that wrapped about the crest on the khans helmet, sinew like the Chogoris tribesmen used for bowstring securing it even further.

Whispered rumor states the adornment is the tail of the Khans horse, shot from him in the battle to unite Chogoris, a disc from the armor he wore as Khan of the Talskars, and the sinew of the great bow the Khan himself was known at times to wield. It is known it was affixed to his helmet by the Emperor Himself, and though the helmet had been remade several times, never had the crest came to harm.
Grants a 3+ invulnerable save.

Swift Death: Jaghatai's steed was a retrofitted Bike that utilised technology which would eventually be used in the creation of the Landspeeder.
Treat it as a Bike in terms of how Terrain effects it's movement rate, in all other respects it is treated as if it were an Eldar Jet Bike.
The sight of such a fearsome warrior hurtling towards their lines can provoke terror in the enemy. If Turbo Boost is used Jaghatai can Tank Shock enemy infantry.
Equipped with twin-linked Astartes Mk1 Aggressor Cannons (As Psycannons).

Way of the Steppes: As he was taught by his Khan before him, Jaghatai has stayed true to the teachings of the Tribesmen of Chogoris- what can not be defeated head on must be worn down.
Jaghatai benefits from the Counter Attack, Hit & Run, and Skilled Rider Universal Special Rules, if accompanied by a bodyguard they have the same rules. A White Scars army led by him must use the Traits as stated on page 45 of the Space Marine Codex.

Too Slow For the Khan...: No units may be included that are unable to move at least 12" every turn, this means that Tactical/Veteran squads must be mounted in transports and the only Scouts available are those on Bikes. The process of establishing a static fire-base is anathema to the White Scar's way of war and Devastator Squads may not be taken.

Talaskars Raiders: Jaghatai Khan may possess a body guard comprising of a retinue of 3-5 bikers armed with Spears of the Steppes (power weapons thant grant +2 Strength and +1 Initiative on the charge but they impart a -1 Initiative penalty if
they are charged or after the 1st round of combat as the length of the weapon becomes counter-productive to the close confusion of melee)....
