Leman Russ is an Independant character, Standard Space Wolves codex rules apply...

Russ may be accompanied by his two wolf brothers Freki and Gerri who follow the stats for fenrisian wolves in the codex Space Wolves.

Leman Russ may ONLY have the wargear and weapons listed

Weapons and wargear:

Thrice blessed Armor: Russ wears a powerful suit of armor gifted to him by the Emperor himself who also blessed the armor three times...in game terms his armor counts as Rune (artificer) Armor with a 2+ invulnerable save. This save is always allowed, even against weapons and devices that would normally negate it. The Armor also protects Russ from psychic attack, any pyschic attack directed at him is negated on a D6 roll of 5+.

Frostblade Gormenjarl (gifted to him by the Emperor) counts as a power weapon +1 to strength no save allowed, Russ may use this weapon as a two handed weapon at which time it counts as a powerfist with a max strength of 10. He may split his attacks between the two weapons profiles.

Spear of Russ counts as a two handed power weapon. No psychic powers whatsoever may affect the character with this item or the squad he has joined, regardless of source. However, the character with this item and the squad he is with may not use any psychic powers of their own. It is a rune-inscribed weapon and against Daemons will always cause wounds on the roll of 4+, unless his normal strength would make this roll less. Against possessed vehicles and possessed Dreadnoughts the anointed weapon confers 2D6+Strength for armour penetration.

NOTE: Russ may only use the spear OR Gormenjarl during an assault phase NOT both. If he is using Gormenjarl then he may also be armed with his bolt pistol. The Space Wolf player must declare which weapon he is using before declaring his assault.

Special rules:

LEGENDARY LEADER: Russ is one of the most outspoken and well known of the primarchs who instilled loyalty and courage in his chapter on the battle field. Once per battle he may use this ability to influence any friendly unit within 12" to reroll any failed test.

LEADS FROM THE FORE... As is his wont, Leman Russ always leads his Wolves from the front. To represent this, Leman MUST be at the head (2" in front) of any SW army he leads, at the beginning of the game and must remain the foremost model until he is engaged in HtH combat.

BATTLE LUST: Leman Russ must move directly towards the enemy and make every effort to engage in HtH combat, even against vehicle types and walkers. To represent this, at the beginning of each of his movement phases, he will move towards the closest enemy unit regardless of what that unit is...

BESERK FURY: When Russ is reduced to one wound he becomes enraged to the point of blind fury. To represent this he gains D3 attacks and Furious charge for the remainder of the game and must always charge any enemy units within range...

FACE TO FACE: If you include Leman Russ in your Space Wolves Army, no Wolf Scout units may use the special 'Behind Enemy Lines' rule and all Space Wolf Forces start in their own deployment zone.

there is an old model but the scale is all wrong...so this is one of those times when and one of the reasons why scratch building and true scaling run rampant here at 40K...

umm, he was also bested by Lion 'el johnson, though it was only because he started laughing at the fact they were fighting and johnson cheap shot him then ran away

Emperor was first gen and wasn't enhanced like the primarchs...doesn't anyone read the fluff...remember he started with his gene seed and improved on it...to create the primarchs as a father would...after all I hope my sons are better men than me someday...and he didn't knock Russ 'out' sheesh...he knocked him down adn in the insueing swarm of bodies he ran off....damn coward...LMAO (yeah it's Russ's story and I'll tell it like it's supposed to be told...from a Wolf's point of view)
