40k Terra Clan (DOW Soulstorm)

So, I've been thinking, i think it may be a good idea to put together a 40k Terra clan so we can all fight for Terra, OUR 40k Terra, and for whatever race any of us likes to play.

It would give us a whole new section of the forum to discuss, such as after action (match) reports, stories of our purges in the name of 40k Terra, and tactics that we can share.

We wouldn't have to play exclusively Marines, I was thinking we'd used the 40k Terra color scheme someone came up with a while back for our minis. And we could fight as whatever race works best for us!

I was already trying to come up with the color scheme we could use, the old mini one, the black base coat with gold trim, i'll have it done by the end of today if anyone is considering this idear. I'll post it later, but anyone who is interested reply to this post, then send me a comment or private message so i can piece a roster together! Lets represent our favorite website, and purge people while we do it!

Great lads! im glad too see interest in this! try and gather at least 10 ppl total so we can have a "Company". I plan on having at least 10 people to start off, so we can have a set number of continuous players. I would also like to learn a few things if its ok:

*What army do you play?
*Why?
*what are you? a rusher? turtler? or a mixed?

I play Necrons, heavily, Chaos, commonly but not rare, SM after that.

Why?

Tactics?
Tends to vary a bit...
Necrons, high end tech. Lots of warriors, with fully upped Necron Lord with Monolith.
Chaos, lots of Marines with stealth, lots of aircraft
SM, marines, marines, terminators, marines, dreadnoughts, marines... you get the idea.

With all of these, I have one major problem. I don't defend well. Definitely a high-offense player. Trying to work on getting better defenses.

EDIT: I also use suicide attacks to weaken the enemy, to give me time for buildup.

Well, Brother Fuegan, Brother Darakathos, you two have what seems to be opposite skills, so we have two defenders and two offensive players, (i myself usually play Chaos, World Eaters...you know how it is...)

Solid, but we could use more flexability.

If we could get a Tau player (Iron Warrior, if all you need is a number, i can provide) or a skilled Dark Eldar player, we would be pretty formidable.

I just checked my multiplayer, I can join. I need to know how to join a clan, though..

Oh, and, apparently... I have the disks for Dark Crusade, and the original DoW and Winter Assault, but I lost the key for DoW and WA. I have a key for DC, but it doesn't seem to accept it for multiplayer.

This would be a bit of a problem, as I don't do DE. I can use the Sisters, but that would limit me to one army.

Hmm, I see that as no real disadvantage...as long as you know how to use them at all, no worries!

to join a clan you simply create a new profile for the multiplayer part of the game, and, whatever we decide on our clan tag to be ( something i wanted to bring up so we could think on together) you simply add it in front of your name in multiplayer!

Imperial Guard most of the time, Space Marines occasionally

So many tanks and infantry!

A turtler definitely- I'll build huge defensive compounds with large overlapping fields of fire. Will rush in order to take hold of bottlenecks which I'll then turn into death traps (mine fields, turrets, heavy weapons teams etc).
Once my base is virtually impregnable I'll build a Blitzkrieg force and spearhead it into enemy flanks (ask Erus )

*what kind of experience do you have?
not a terribly large amount online but I've played a fairly high number of games in a LAN (this was DC rather than SS though so I'm going to get some practise in seeing how the aircraft change the game...Marauder Bombers with my blitzkrieg, oh yes)

Great! With Night Shadow we are 5 strong, getting better! So we have Baron as turtler, (your description of tactics is astounding by the way) with a solid defence provided by Baron, and I'm assuming 11755 is a mixed player cause he plays Marines , we have a nice equal amount of offense and defence.

Which brings us to our next topic, we neeed a clan tag...

Anyone have ideas? because I'm never really good at making names...lol

I'm down, i just have to find my DC, WA and DOW cd keys to play SS.

I'm a big space marine player myself, I haven't had much online play EXP but i've played alot of rts game and generaly get the gist.

I like teching to a big well-balanced force then striking, this usually leads to me getting rushed but when i start rolling its unstoppable!

our tage should just be |40K| simple, quick and will strike the fear of the god emperor into the Heretics!

we could just do 40kterra. Or, as Battle-Ranch put it, |40K|, although that may be taken.

I revised my tactics a bit... I have a moderate defence... when my army is inside my base. While it's out, Im a bit weakened, but with Necrons I can just Summon if it gets too bad.

Oh, and fear the Tomb Spyder suicide squads. You have to waste a good amount of units/turrets to keep them down, and they are already inside your base.

I like the |40K| tag, maybe we could use |40KT| though, so we represent the website a bit better? now we number 7 total if anyones curious! not counting Brother Night Shadow, as he is uncertain of participation at this time due to system complications.

Lets contiue to aim for our original number of 10 members before we make the clan official, if before too long, lets say a week, we cant get 10, we'll just say screw it, and make the clan anyway!

I myself would like a set number, as too ensure we dont loose tendancy to play, so that somehwere, at any given time, someone is fighting for 40k Terra, and the God Emperor.

Later, if we get a good amount of people we'll schedule matches with other clans, and coordinate with eachother so like at least once a week we can all get together and play a few...dozen ...matches.

Everything seem cool so far with everyone?
I'm not in command or anything, I would like any imput from anyone else!

Okay, good news, bad news, and idea.

Good news: I can play multiplayer with 4 of the races.

Bad news: I can play multiplayer with 4 of the races. I can't find my DoW and Winter Assault keys. Ah well.

Idea: Multiplayer on the Mods, like Firestorm over Kronus, or the BT version? Any chance of that?

I haven't played online for a while but here goes,

Army: Tau, Marines, Chaos or SOB
Why: Coz i can
Tictacs: varies really as i can super defensive or i can rush the crap out of people
Experience: Been playing since DC came out and played frequently with the FG clan before they split (newer FG members aren't aware of this so hush). Learned from several guys at once while playing team games how to use each race properly online. Haven't played since Soulstorm came out as i have been busy with Battlefield 2. May be a hugely infrequent guy so whatev.
