ss demo download question

should i save and then open the zip file or open it first? (i'm so noobish with computers)

what i mean is, when i click download, it comes up with a popup saying.

open file save file cancel dawnload.

If it's in a ZIP / RAR archive, I recommend saving then opening, as long as you have the space.
It's safer.

Also, for such a huge file, I recommend using a download manager like flashget.

You need to DOWNLOAD the demo.

then UNPACK the zip file into a folder

Then run the .exe file


If the demo went poof you did something wrong

go to the topic i made about this a month ago and follow the link, there will be a page, click the link there, a pop up apears, right click on the link there and save target as

well technically if its in a pack you can choose the "open" option and it temp-downloads before extracting.

not really, if he messes up with the unarchiving/installing by closing the window or something the file can easily get deleted

Faster + safer (as in less chance of the download being nuked by system errors)

ok ,it is being saved onto my computer via wakims suggestion. once it is saved, what do i do (sorry to bother you guys, i think tech support is off for the Sbowl

the simple way?

right click on archived file, extract TO, window opens, you have a path bar there, select the path to wherever you want to extract it (a new, clean, empty folder called SS Demo Setup/Kit or soemthing like that), wait a bit, when it`s done open the newly made folder in which you`ll find a bunch of files, go for the setup/demo.exe and from there on you know what to do

so make a new folder, extract "TO" (whatever that is) to the new folder, wait abit, open the folder, click setup/demo.exe, and play?

EXTRACT TO is an option in the menu that pops up after you right click on an archive

but to give a basic idea: my usually "75kb/s" without DL manager download gets bumped to between 150 and 350kb/s

okay guys, i have it. i have opend the folder and inside in order from left to right is.

direct9x--_setup.dll--data1--data1.hdr--data2--gamershell--gh3d--issetup.dll--layout--readme--setup (looks like a popup)--setup (looks like a page with a cog)--setup (looks like a page with a popup in middle)

what do i open?
