Blog Entries: 1 | Not a whole lot of content in this issue, and not much of the content is helpful. Here's a list of articles and what I thought of them: Harad: A review of the new LotR SBG rulebook. Like most reviews in WD, it talks about the thought that went into it, how it's better than the previous one, and about the new units. It's then followed by three sample army lists, and a short two pages with tips on painting the Haradrim. A useless article IMO. Strike of the Serpent: A LotR battle report. It pits the new Harad rulebook against Gondor. Guess who wins. It follows the trend of all the new battle reports, but piqued my interest somewhat. I may have to get back into LotR SBG. But once again, a generic and useless article. The Horus Heresy: An interview with Dan Abnett. He talks about how the HH series has gone from strength to strength, and about his new contribution to the series; Legion. An interesting article, but not a whole lot that you'll be missing if you don't read it. Conquest of Empires: Three short pages about a studio Warhammer mighty Empires campaign. It was a five month campaign with very little coverage. It recommends a few things for your own Mighty Empires campaigns. Useless IMO. Standard Bearer: Jervis talks about archetypes in 40K. I didn't sense any GW propaganda in it though. Citadel Toolbox: Talks once again about using purity seal on your models. There have already been about three of these articles, so... ![]() Painting Masterclass Shokk Attack Gun: Pretty straight forward here. Kirsten Williams paints the Mek with Shokk Attack gun. No new tips here. You can find all the techniques used on it on the GW website. Designing the Shokk Attack Gun: A one page article of Seb Perbet and how he designed the Shokk Attack Gun. He gives a nod to the 2nd ed model designers who made the first Shokk Attack gun. The adjacent page has a short story of a Mek using a SAG. Boring and useless article. Tactica: The Empire: A few tips and three army lists for the Warhammer Empire. It outlines three main army types: swordsman horde army, a balanced army, and an all cavalry army. It also has a page on The Expendable Five. This should actually prove useful to those Warhammer players out there. One good article so far. Modelling Workshop: Baneblades: Pictures of six different Baneblade conversions. Five of them we haven't seen before, the sixth one is the Fortress of Arrogance. Useless unless you like pretty pictures. 'Eavy Metal: Dwarfs: A showcase of the studio Warhammer Dwarfs. Basically, a bunch of pretty pictures that they smashed into an article to make you buy more stuff from GW. NBP.(nothing but propaganda) That's about it. One good article, and that's for a game that I don't even play! ![]() |
