Default Mr Tasty

I didn't know what to name this thread, so the name of the local fish & chip shop will do.

Anyway, I'm getting a bit bored of painting hundereds of SMurfs, and I've always liked the Inquisition (like everyone, I over-enjoyed Eisenhorn).

So, can you give me any tips on how to use an Inquisitorial force, or even just tell me some of the details. (Radicals FTW!)

a) inquisitors totally suck in assaults... the crutch of being only a S3/T3 guy who still had to pay over inflated space marine prices for all his weapons & wargear...
kit him out for shooting, but never neglect holocaust! it will clear crowds quite effectively.

b) retinues; i consider gun servitors mandetory, especially in a radical army as you lose out on over half the codex options...
add in a few acolytes w/power armour to form some extra ablative wounds, but make sure your majority save stays at 3+ or better!

c) assassins. they're fun! if your opponent likes to take lots of pts heavy 1W models like tricked out vet sergeants, the vindicare is handy for picking them off.
the culexus is plain nasty thanks to his Ld abilities and ap1 gun
the eversor is cheap and can generally mop the floor with small units. plus he goes BOOM! as he dies.
never used the callidus as including her has always led to cries of foul dairy products...

d) if you want to use guard alongside your radicals, it's much better to make the guard the parent list. this way you get more choice beyond infantry platoons & armoured fist squads... (what little good stuff you can induct is all 0-1)
allied marines get plenty of choice oddly enough?!

you will need to include either marine or guard though as your only actual unit option as a radical are storm troopers!>.< the other few options are all 0-1 entries, (beyond inquisitors) and either don't count for objectives, or are too random to be counted on to hold onto things...

e) it's mandetory that you remind any silly puritan you meet that our path is the true path and they simply lack the stomac to do what's really nessessary, or else are little more than thick-skulled, bombastic dullards unable to see the truth!

cheers!

Inquisitor Heldane explains the difference between a puritan and a radical very nicely. Well, he might not be a good example of what happens to radicals. Big. Psysic. Boom.

are you sure you want to go down the path of the heretic my friend? The path of the puritan is so much better. You see if come with us down the way of rightiousness then you will unlock a door to the wonders of the grey knights. now i know i know they are horribly expensive but thats the wonders. use the guard as your troop choice and just lay down 3 deep striking squads of 8 grey knights as your fast attack choice and watch your opponents line collapse. With the ferociousness of grey knights in close combat and the power of the imperial guard firing line nothing will stand in your way.

besides whats so great about the radical side eh? Daemonhosts! those things are way to random.

my personal belief about inquisitors: guns for eve ryone and the bigger, the better :]
that’s just me though...stitch already mentioned t hat they are crap in assault, so i’d avoid that [i know, the thunder hammer is almost too cool to re sist, but resist, haha]

umm there is a site on the USGW page that has some setups for inquisitors, i find that really helpfu l. should be under the daemonhunters.

okay i’m gonna stop typing cause the text is screw ed up. happy inquisiting! and eisenhorn=excellent book.

:]
