| the age of insects ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | to add an inquisitor to an existing army, where/what page do i find the rules for that ? hm...i'm considering adding an inquisitor to my space marine forces (or maybe deathwatch, we'll see :]) and i'm considering this: [you might recognise this, it's on USGW site] inquisitor, psycannon & close combat weapon 3 sages, a mystic, and 3 IG vets with plasmaguns, 1 gun-servitor with plasmacannon total: 147 points [cheap for 5 awesome guns...yet so expensive for 9 bodies !] but i'm wondering, if you can just tell me witha yes or no, if it is at all legal for me to incorporate this into my space marine army.. :] and now to think of fluff that will allow me to use an inquisitor with a space marine army that has chaos marine models in it! haha -ant

| greetings fellow inquisitor! as pointed out, you need to decide which ordo you will follow - though if you really want the psycannon then you'll need a daemonhunter inquisitor ![]() generally speaking daemonhunters are more outright offensive in their play style while witch hunters are more subtle and have lots of anti-psyker gear and psychological tricks to play on enemies! the rules for incorperating inquisitor units into your marine/guard army is found on; codex daemonhunters - pg21 (grey box) codex witch hunters - pg25 (grey box) as to your planned retinue, it's slightly illegal as you have too many "warrior class" henchmen... each 'type' of henchman is limited to 0-3 total and things like servitors, vet guardsmen and/or crusaders all fall into the 'warrior class'! not a huge mistake though and one that's easy to fix ![]() hope this helps, cheers!

yea i think i'll stick with the daemonhunters inquisitor, that psycannon is just too cool..haha oh yea...so i'm not too claer on this: you are allowed a certain number of each choice from an allied DH FOC [ie 1 HQ, i elite, 2 troops, etc.] and those count as normal troops choices in your "mother"/"main" FOC right ? so if i were to take an inquisitor, he would fill my allied DH elites choice as well as an elites choice on my space marine list ? yes? no ? thanks :] -ant

but somebody before you just said that they would take up my space marines FOC space as well as the space it takes up in the allies list, so i'm a little confused as to how that all works out... : / one question though, what do you mean by "which cannot be the compulsory choices, and neither can the troops" ? :] thanks! -ant

| Extremis Diabolus ![]() ![]() | Ok, so, here's the deal. When it says you can have 0-1 Daemonhunters HQ, that means that you may choose one HQ from the Daemonhunters list instead of the Space Marines list. It takes options and equipment from the Daemonhunters Codex only. I think what's confusing is the notion of a seperate Daemonhunters mini-FOC added onto the normal Space Marine one (i.e. and extra HQ, Elite, Fast Attack, and two extra troops). This is a misconception. By choosing a Daemonhunters HQ, you forego another Space Marine HQ. By compulsory, I mena the required 1 HQ choice all games have. For example, you cannot have a Space Marine force where the only HQ choice is an Inquisitor. There must be a Space Marine HQ, and two Space Marine troops in your army before you can start putting in Allies. Make more sense?

| basically keep in mind too, if you ever want to have an assassin (of any type!) in your space marine army, then you *must* take an inquisitor lord as your allied hq as the assassin takes up the 0-1 allied elites choice (and you *must* include and inquisitor in order to take the assassin/s)so in order to include an assassin, (and why not? they're freakin' cool!) your marine army would look like; HQ: 1 space marine hero (chapy/libby/captain) inquisitor lord + retinue (remember, he's got a manditory retinue!) ELITES: 0-2 space marine elites 1 temple assassin *or* 1-3 deathcults TROOPS: 2+ space marine troops choices (may include 0-2 inq troops) FAST ATTACK: 0-3 space marine choices (and/or may include 0-1 inq unit) HEAVY SUPPORT: 0-3 space marine choices (may *never* include allied heavy support!) basically once you have your manditory 1 hq & 2 troops from your parent list (ie; space marines!) then you can spend as many pts as you want on allied inquisition units provided you don't exceed the total number of allowed allied units ![]() also keep in mind that you can include allied special characters, but any requirements (such as a minimum pts worth of their ordo's forces!) *must* come from the allies *only*!!! (so, for example, you could include brother captain stern as an allied daemonhunter hq choice, but you would need at least 1500pts worth of allied daemonhunters in order to take him!) hopefully you're head isn't hurting yet! ![]() cheers!

| the age of insects ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | haha it doesn't hurt too much :] but yea it makes a lot more sense to me now thanks to you all. i think for now i'll stick to a low number of DH for my army: an inquisitor + the retinue i listed above [minus the extra warrior-oops!] and maybe a squad or two of storm troopers, as i'm looking into starting IG after i hit around 2000 points of space marines...as it is i think i'm a little over 1000 so it won't be for a little while but yea thanks for everything! i'll post a list and maybe pictures when i get around to it -ant
