I hate Goto's work. It's heretical, absolutely no fluff-accurate occurrences, and his writer's craft (Method) is, for lack of a better word, ****.

Abnett, on the other hand, is a damn fluff-monkey. I don't see how one could be so blasphemous as to compare him to Goto, MoW. I struggle to find a overt amount of indiscrepancies in his work.

lol true. abnett might have one or two tiny discrepancies that are generally excusable for fluff freedom. and i only say that because i know most of his work is pretty on par, especially cause he's one of the few authors i really trust in the BL.

more on topic though, lol..can someone tell me what set the DW shoulderpads come in ? and does that set have the happy bolters that they carry ? :]
and for whoever asked, some DW also have custom DW helmets and things. i don't think those are a big deal though. what's big is the bolter and the shoulderpad :]

For the record, I have never read a lot of either... I've only read Horus Rising by Abnett...

But, I have heard that people have gotten annoyed at abnett for some things (the whole Cornel Commissar Gaunt... gaunt and eisenhorn defleting lasbolts...)

I'm not saying that CS Goto is a bad author... its just that I feel that its sorta stupid for critizing someone allowing his space marines to use multilasers... which appears... to me... to be the biggest problem many people had with Goto.

But... we have wandered off topic... lets get back to the Dea****ch and what they do...

the thing is.... What Abnett writes on isn't exactly AGAINST fluff... It's just not based off of it. 90% of his work doesn't really challenge any fluff. It just pushes our preconceptions of certain roles within the universe.

It is stupid for SM to use Multi-Lasers.. SM are very, very stringent. Most would die before they picked up a discarded weapon to fight with. They are very much an idealistic depiction of a Knight in that regard. Them fighting with a gun that's mounted only on vehicles of the IG.. It's just dumb. And it goes against several pieces of fluff.
