Blog Entries: 1 | i've played around with that trick a couple of times and all i can say about it is that milliput doesn't work well at all i haven't yet tried it with GS or procreate but i think sculpy has a different texture to it, less tacky i believe, so you might need to leave the putty to cure for a little while before you play with it.

| Hi there The sculpts I have are all GS, but I was told that the molds used to make most of the bits were resin... they are destroyed after each mini, unless you want loads.... so making the same type molds would be hard unless you work with resin. I've done the tutorial you speak of and have had some success using plain GS, just expensive... Cheers

| Hi again Well the only advise I can give is to take your time, break down the model you want to make in to the smallest part possible to make making the molds easier and to remember you can't rush GS drying.... Cheers

| Patron Saint of Leicester ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sculpey is a completely different material than GS, ProCreate, or Milliput. Sculpey does not harden on it's own. GS, Milliput, and ProCreate are 2-part epoxy putties. Sculpey is a single part plastic polymer. The epoxy putties harden with a chemical reaction brought on by kneading the two parts (resin and catalyst) together. Sculpey hardens with heat. You have to bake it in an oven at 225 to 250 degrees fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes to harden it. Sculpey will never harden until you bake it. If you look at the tut on Scibor's site (Articles), you'll notice a color change in the Sculpey between pics 16 and 17. That rather noticable color change comes with baking the Sculpey to harden it. After baking it, Sculpey (when baked) is as hard as GS, at less than 1/3 the cost. The Scibor method does work, you just have to bake the Sculpey. Scibor also mentions the hardening of the Sculpey at the end of the article "Required time for making this part was just about 15 minutes + the time for hardening the mold."
