Meet captain Thabian "Iron Guts" Bartez of the 3rd company.

his latest cybernetic replacement came on orphideon 3, in a campaign to rid the world of the followers of the chaos champion graxus, the master mutator, who's daemonic cross breading had spawned a nightmare of warp beasts that were unleashed on the orphidion population. an ordo malleus inquisitor had pronounced exterminatus on the infested world and bartez's company were in retreat to their thunderhawks for planetry evacuation. just as the main doors were closing on bartez's transport, the craft was rocked by a heavy impact and the boarding ramp was ripped back down as a truely monstrous spawn attempted to gain access to the passenger compartment. captain bartez calmly unhooked a krak grenade from his belt, primed it, and shoved his arm deep into the spawns maw. the resultant explosion tore the chaos beast apart from the inside and vaporised the captain's arm at the elbow. in honour of this heroic feat the rest of the company repainted their left forearms silver.

that is the kind of action that has characterised captian thabian bartez's career to date, and is likely to continue untill he is finally sent to greet the emperor.

If this sounds like the kind of man you could follow into battle the sign your name on the rosters of the glorious 3rd. earn your place by the emperors side by slaying the enemies of mankind, and win honour and glory on the field of war!

there are positions still available in the command squad; banner bearer, apothacary (with strong tech marine overtones due to fluff), company champion and special weapons trooper. i'td be cool if all models could have some kind of bionic enhancement to tie the squad together visually but don't worry if you can't manage it, the silver left arm will do at a push.

applications will be considered on a first come first served basis.

I can't join the third, as I'm already pledged to the first, but I think it'd be funny if one of your command squad members had bionic replacement of only his vital organs. Or just his pinkie toe...but thats just me!

That'd actually be a good idea! It would add more character to the large amount that we already have.

The whole 'be in every co.' idea I don't like. It makes the army too cheesy and the positions less meaningful. Find a post and stick to it. And please, this thread is for recruitment/interest in the third, keep it on topic fellas.

heroic stunt: apollo charged and killed a demon prince all on his own then went on to destroy a corrupted vindicator by shooting it with his meltagun in the rear.
kit: melta gun, lots and lots of frags!

sound fine. also this was real in that the model did all this on his own!

Can i take the Standard Bearer Position?

If so
Name: Petrius Barrenius
Heroic Stunt: Killed 60 gaunts on his own then impaled a Carnifex on the tattered remains of a Banner pole.
Traits: Will ALWAYS follow orders no matter what they mean attacking/defending, Loves a good fight.
Kit: Company Standard, Power Sword(why not), Bionic Crotch(LOL) or bionic toes, and a bolt pistol(hardly used) also a bionic arm.

Almost always found next to his captain holding the Banner aloft for all to see and shouting insults at the enemy even if he knows they dont understand him.
One of the more amusing moments of his astartes life is when a Word Bearer shouted "Death to the False Emperor", he ran up to the offending Traitor Spat in his face, put his power sword through the traitors chest and replied "FALSE!?! how dare you offend The Emperor of Mankind, Beloved by All. Now if you Dont mind DIE ALREADY MY SWORD ARM HURTS". He is a firm believer of going "Up the centre" in a charge. He lost his arm in battle following his captain into battle, he got attacked by a Khorne Berzerker who sliced his banner bearing arm off. He got his revenge however by pulling his bolt pistol from its holster and blowing the berzerkers face off, his arm has since been replaced by a bionic one so he never tires of holding the banner aloft.

I could write more if i thought about it but ill leave it at this as it is an application for the position.
