Blog Entries: 5 | Okay, the last Marine list i submitted here was very inflexible, and Very VERY static/shooty. this list is an attempt to go in totaly the opposite direction, so here goes: HQ Master of sanctity 'brother Silas' : 117pts Bolt Pistol, Frag, Termiator honours, Furious charge. | love the dreads mine are named hanz and franz (my 3rd is names arnold he is the VEN) like from the old SNL skit i like the ven with tank hunting to booste up the las i think you should even those squads out (even #s) less tools on the vet sgt and another missle launcher (for added armour killing power)around there and you are in business my friend

Blog Entries: 5 | Thanks for the ehlp so far, ill be looking inot editing the list alittle now. but, the Vet Sgt, at the end of the day, a powerfist is as much pts wise as a LC, that and i like the ability to re roll wounds (as my rolls usally suck) that and i dont perticually want him strikeing last, as the army i usally face are marines at the moment, and usally i end up haveing to go toe to toe with Death company so....i need something thats going to cut through thier armour however some thing that will alos force them to make alot of saves as well. so thats my reasoning for the LC, but since thier the smae points i COULD swap it out for a powerfist if the game called for it.

| This is something that really annoys me, space marine players really dont need rhinos at all, unless your in a apocolypse game their nearly useless. And if this is a capture mission you want to load up on assault squads so when you do capture it and their coming to take it, you can beat them in close combat! |

| The Emperor's Mercy ![]() ![]() ![]() | actually i' ve had the same opinion for a while: rhinos aren't worth anything for space marines, their crappy armor is just totally shoddy but i was pleasantly surprised, with a little dice rolling luck, some clever smoke poppin and good positioning, they can really bolster/protect an infantry attack. the guy i played NEVER once boarded his rhinos, just used them to corner me for tank shocking and to cover his infantry advance's flank, preventing me from killing his infantry while his 3 LS tornadoes shot the crap outta me. it was a bloody game, and i learned that rhinos deserve at least a little respect, even if it's just as burnt out scenery :P

Blog Entries: 5 | Okay the list was used wensday of last week. Game: Recon Level: Highest Armys: Imperial Fists VS Space Wolves Result: Space wolf Victory Reasons: simple, I played Defensively, and he had ALOT of bloodclaws. the landpeeders did F*%^ all. they manged to kill 1 marine a turn before they died. which was turn 3. the 5 man with RL did very well, making up its points and then some. thge socuts....the snipers killed off 8 marines, and then were butchered in CQC in turn 3 the command squad didnt do what it was designed too, but performed well none the less. it held up a 12 man bloodclaws squad, a SW capatin and wolfpriest for 3 turns. not too shabby. the dreados, Karl was blitzed by a squad of wolfscouts with meltguns. and franz, held up anouther squad of bloodclaws for 4 turns before finally dieing in turn 6. not too shabby at all. the rhinos, now, despite what Ultramar belives they did brilliantly well. they did not make up thier points, but they caused a hell of alot of humilliation. they both, rhinos 1 and 2, tank shocked the wolf scouts half way across the board after they destoryed Karl, and then kept them running by staying close enought to cause them to keep running. ^^ not bad for 116 points, they took 200 points of wolfscout outta the game for 4 turns, just by driveing them over repatedly. the tac squad mounted in rhino, while the rhino was off tankshocking the brains out of the wolfscouts, they killed off a half strength squad of bloodclaws, before getting charged for a second time by a SW tac sqd (I forget what there called) and dieing misearbly, not causing any wonds. the predator, killed off 6 marines, and then exploded in turn 6. the only unit left alive at the endgame was the five man scouts with bolters and missile launcher. in the nd, my opponent, had half a squad into my deployment zone. then however, i discovered the level of game we were playing (i dont usally bother with that, i just play and have a good time, we needed the level becasue of the mission at the end, working out VP's) max level, so Vp's only. so, it was a minor victory for the SW's in the end. Ny failings: I deciede right from the start to play defensively, something this army is not designed for. then again, i was playing SW's, and in a staright fight i would have undoubtedly lost and the game would have gone very diffrently, but with the same outcome. really, for that perticular army to play agianst (plus my oponenst list, something im going to be taking him up on is his wolf preist, i own a copy of codex SW's and after RE-=Reading it after the game, i discovered he CANNOT use his nathacarium, on a wolf priest, as its a character model, and they cannot use the natacarium on themselves. so, he would have been dead early on from Heavy bolter fire on my end, if had not got a natacarium. so, something to take him up on when i see him next) but all in all. im not ready to scrap this army just yet, i plan to play it a few more times before taking it back to the drawing board, and the rhinos, despite peoples opinions of them, are very handy, and just for the sheer humilation factor of makeing 150+ points of wolfscouts run halfway across the board. i would have paid for 4 let alone 2.

| A slight tweak that I have found to work is put the Assult Cannon Dread i a Drop Pod, then drop him where you need him either on an objective or behind his armor or just in a snazzy place that looks cool LOL! I think I will have to try some games without my Rhinos... I just play to many people with AP 3 stuff though.

| Hairy Hunter ![]() ![]() | Marines without Rhinos are turd, to be quite honest. We can use them for so, so much... even more than just mobile hills. I play an eldar force with lots of nasty guns... and I still use them for transport. As daft as it may sound and they always serve me well. I'm intrigued by your opponents list though. Wolf scouts can only have 1 melta as opposed to meltas.... just a thought. And you've also mentioned blood claws... ok, but what did his grey hunters do (or did he evan have any?) awolf list must a at least 1
