Default Custom Chapter---Devil Dogs

Been thinking of starting a space marine army, a diy chapter. I like the name devil dogs. I will use the old Ragnar blackmane shoulder pad for the chapter symbol. Here is a link to the color scheme:

http://bolterandchainsword.com/sm.ph...000&gr=030000&

The red knee pad denotes a sergeant. Each troop type will have a specific helmet, ie. tactical marines will have beakies, fast attack will have the standard helmet, heavy will have a crusader style helmet (http://store.us.games-workshop.com/s...6708&orignav=9)
Elites will be helmetless, and I think scouts will be helmet less, but have rebreathers.

Don't know the full rules, style of play or theme yet, but I have the color scheme at least. Any feedback you guys can give me will be great!

while the helmet thing is a good idea you'd need the different types of armour to go with it otherwise you'd be mixing armour

hmm. i think the name is really cool ! this will be an interesting chapter..although i would suggest using beakies for heavies or fast or elites or some such, otherwise you might end up needing one heck of a lot of those helmets...unless of course you have a lot ? :]

hmm. it might be my internet but the b&c link isn't working right now. hrm

anyways, good luck ! looking forward to updates vishnoff :]

Default dead link, we don't need no stinking dead link

It seems that you may be right, the link is dead. well I will just attach the photo then. As for mixing armor, The chapter is a little divergent and one of their quirks is different style helmets for different types of troops. Everyone will still have the most recent armor variant, but the different helmets predates the chapter itself and goes back to the devil dog home world, where the warriors of Gustanm (their home world) wore different styles of armor to differentiate the various clans. I don't have a full story yet, but I do have a few pieces... I'll get back to you with more.

ah, yea this picture is working now.. nice color scheme ! cool idea, i've been using a similar one where certain helmets [the one with a skull on the forehead] is for dev marines while beakies are for assault marines. it has a nice overall effect :] looking forward to updates !

well the helmet idea is cool, it'll make your squads easy to identify on the table. as r4 already mentioned, unless you have a plentiful supply of beakies and other funky heads i'd think carefully about which unit gets which helmet.

looking forward to more

Default the helmet set up

Well the assault squads will get regular helmets, and I have a nice set of death company marines just begging to be converted for this project (heh, heh, heh).
I am slowly getting the beakie helmets. I have 3 now and only need 13 more...
Using an old Iron warrior helmet for the devastators, which is good since my old army is Iron Warriors so I have a few of those helmets (looks like a crusader helmet). My only major problem is what to do with scouts. I don't know if I should make them all wearing rebreathers or just give them helmets. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

rebreathers gets my vote, on the grounds that it would look totally cool!

I agree, re-breathers for the scouts. Ohh the ideas you have now given me...

Default Assault squad mods

Just finished most of the conversions for the assault squad. They still need jump packs, shoulder pads and paint, but I will post a picture of them soon.
