Blog Entries: 3 | (Heh doesn't exactly follow your guidelines, but here it goes)![]() "Let your soul lie behind the Adamantium, and be driven by the Machine! It is the pure gift in which the Machine God has provided onto his followers. Worship him. Worship the Emperor! Bring vengeance onto those who try to stop you!" -Iron Father Prathios of the Adamantium Souls ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I am using Chaos Space Marine Rules set. Black Legion rules, but my army will be built on Space Marine Models dominately, and it will be a Space Marine chapter, physically, and fluffwise. My goal is to create a VERY THEMED, and FLUFFY ARMY yet still have EXCELLENT playing. Now I am trying to build fluff more specifically on the army composition and models, and how it should fit into all of this. Fluff about the chapter will come later once i get this figured out. So I'll be needing suggestions if my stuff sounds right, as I am going to REASON with the 40k system a lot. Color Scheme : So far my Basic idea for this chapter will be: Black Bolters, Black chainsword Gold Body and legs. White or Silver Eagle? Shoulder Pads, Red or black on the bottom trim, and Gold On the top padded part. ::Armoury:: D. Mutations - Servo Arms - Providing the extra attack D. Str. - Bionical Arm or something to show more str. D. Flight - Jetpacks D. Resilience - Heavy Armor D. Talons - Admantium claws D. Speed - Bionic Legs/Tread Legs ::HQ:: Chaos lord = Iron Lord (Chapter Master) - *Now I was about to field the Iron Lord as a MK4 Dreadnought with dual lightning claw arms. But have him be played as a Chaos Lord, meaning he would have wounds on Armor value. Though I've heard some fluff discussion stating that it is totally WRONG to have a Dreadnought lead an army, fluffwise. Is this correct? In sense the Iron lord would not really be dead, he would just be manning a dreadnought-like suit. ::Elites:: Obliterators = 'Juggernought' Terminators = The Admantium Souls have developed a 'new' design on the Tactical Dreadnought Terminator Armor, an extremely heavy variant of the Terminator which can output a wide variety of weaponry to match any situation given in the battlefield, not to also mention the new use of Admantium to improve the toughness of the armour. But the price of tougher army comes with a cubbersome weight, which the techmarines are still trying to adjust. These 'Juggernought' variant Terminators have been unleashed in the battlefield for occasional testing, as they are still under the early ages of developement, there hasn't been high production of these specialized suits which makes them very rarely used in the Adamantium Souls force organization. Idea modeling is going to be like this: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...W/DSCF0010.jpg Repleace the head, and put a Dreadnought Sarchophogus in its place, and greenstuff all around. They are going to look like Mini Dreadnoughts, then plasticard/greenstuff it up to buff up the armor. But I also have the idea these might look really weird. Its a start.. Possessed = Bionically-Enhanced Marines = *No Fluff yet* ::Troops:: Nurgle Marines = Adamantium Marines = These are the standard marines of the chapter. they are heavily armed with special MK armour, a more armoured version of the standard power armour. *Fluff has not been written on this yet* And so toughness 5 is represent the resilience they pack. Chaos Space Marine Backpacks, just something to make the squad stick out even more, or not? Heads= Open-face heads w/ respirators? Or something else? Shoulder Pads: Front Armor: ( I choose nurgle, but 1k Sons, having 2 wounds does sound like a variant) I might create two different designs to differentiate the variant MKs. ) Nurglings = Servo-Skulls = Though the servo-skull is often known for serving the Ordo Inquisitors, the Adamantium Souls have adopted these mechanisms and used them for their own. They are the most 'common' constructs seen amongst the assembly line. Being very cheap, easy and simple, these constructs are mass-produced on forgeworlds and given anti-grav motorization to move about. Modified and equipped for war, these servo skulls contain tiny lethal injection needles, laser cutters, and other tandems to engage those who stand in the way. Being driven by a specialized Machine Spirit, the servo skulls are able to function and react on their own, but occassionally has some technical breakdowns. Each 40mm base will contain a group of servo skulls Daemon packs = Combat Servitors = Though I'm just not totally sure how I would fit the summoning ideal into this kind of fluff.. maybe worshipping the Machine Gods? And send forth these crazy cc guys? fluff will need help on. ::Heavy Support:: Defilers ='__no name__' Class Dreadnought = Another 'test' Design variant sent in by the Adeptus Mechanicus. It was originally suppose to be given onto the Mentors chapter for weaponry testing but the Admantium Souls have taken the testing privledges onto their own selves. This new design, adapts the build of the current Dreadnought Chassis, and creating a Heavier class than its predecessor. By equipping it with a wider and stronger arsenal, the '____' Class Dreadnought only be closely matched by its cousins, the 'Juggernaught' Terminators. To balance between heavy equipment and speed, more legs were given, and including an upgraded hull and driven by the Machine Spirit which protects and aids the 'Ancient' driver to prevent it from being disrupted, stunned, or disabled. All contributions essentially creating the Dreadnought into a Pseudo-Walker-Warmachine. Need a name~ And I'll model this something like.. ![]() I was wondering of partly copying the design of that, except not putting anything Chaos Like onto it. Then added a battlecannon, and a few guns to it. Any other vehicles will be fitted with 'Extra armour' to represent even stronger vehicular wargear, and to help if mutated hull was to ever be used. This is my idea on a simple stretch... any comments hah? Or think I'm crazy? |

| Simple start: Observation: Space Wolves have been using a Dreadnaught for HQ for how long now? why wouldn't a chapter devoted to Mechanics be lead by an Old and Powerful Dreadnaught? all though I would be careful with the going bonkers rules Chaos offers its Dreads. Question: Why are you not utalizing the Iron Warriors list? it would lend itself more effectively I would think, since it actually uses Servo arms in the list and you get to bring more Oblits!!! the Option of subbing out for more Heavy!!! I know it has limitations, but those shouldn't get in your way. all though I like using Nurgle to outfit your army into "Machine Tough" |

| what is that dreadnaught made of? that looks awsome! if its going to be a defiler rules-wise, i would have the battle cannon make from an imperial guard griffon morter tank gun. its small and lies flat, so it looks like it would fit between the spikes. however if its a space marine force i would lose the spikes cause it makes it look more chaotic, same with giving them CSM backpacks. also be sure to give your lord mark of nurgle or else your nurgle marines are elites! an idea-look at WD 300. theres some interesting articles on finding bionic parts and adding plasticard for a thougher looking armor (neck guards=cool) Last edited by Dan296; 10-12-2006 at 02:23 PM. Blog Entries: 4 | Erm i think thats juggernaught head, dread body & engine, sentinel and dread legs, melta/flamer on the right arm, chaos vehicle accessory sprue in there too? my chapter (no logo/pics yet) Name: Crusaders of Asomrof / Knights of the Great Crusade Derivation: Black Templars Adv/Disadv: completely codex chapter, no traits or can be fielded as BT crusaders of the Asomrof Crusade Fluff: By the end of the Asomrof Crusade, the BT participating have taken up more faith in the Emperor than what is the normal zealousness of BT. They are now fanatical about the bringing of the Emperor's Light to all reaches of the galaxy. The petitioned Helbrecht formally for seccesssion from the chapter to form a Successor. At the same time, lexemechanics of the Administratum and Mechanicus have finally calculated an estimate of Black Templars total force. There is more than 100 BT in service over the 1000 maximum. Helbrecht reluctantly but quickly accepted the seccession and named them a successor chapter. Thus the Crusaders of Asomrof were created. The crusaders have an affinity for working with the Ordo Malleus, and the Chapter Master - former Marshall of the Asomrof Crusade - is believed to have ties with Torquemada Coteaz, possibly from the outset of the Asomrof crusade, before seccession. however no facts or even solid rumors confirm such. edit: Current Chapter Master: Baruch Homeworld: Asomrof Primus (5th of 10 planets from sun) as with all my creations, the complete fluff will go into the fluff section, and pictures links in my photoblog and in the relevant fluff/dev edit 2: My other DIY SM chapters include: Shadow Dragons (fluff complete)

Blog Entries: 1 | Name: Storm Marines Derived From: Ultramarines Fluff: The Storm Marines are an offshoot of the Ultramarines Chapter. The first Chapter Master, Isaac Karton was a fan of guerrilla warfare. As a result, the Chapter still uses the techniques past down the generations of Chapter Masters. However, in all other aspects they adhere to the Codex Astartes, they have a balanced army and they conduct the traditional rituals. They have the same chapter structure as the Ultramarines and they too have a realm in the Galactic South, not far from the Tau Empire. Today they are lead by Icarus Athrasuriel. Chapter Advantages/Disadvantages: Advantages: See, but don’t be seen. Take the Fight to Them Drawbacks: Eye to Eye Die Standing |

Trait Advantages Blessed Be The Warriors No Mercy, No Respite Trait Disadvantages Eye To Eye I have two five man Tactical Squads with loads of Assault Marines as Fast Attack and Elites choices...all who have Furious Charge! HQ consists of a Terminator Chaplain with a 5 man Reclusiam bodyguard, two of which have Assault Cannons. | Name of Chapter the Night Angels Chapter Derived from the Dark Angels Chapter Advantages/Disadvantages Expeditionary/raiding forces have the following: Advantages: See But Don't Be Seen, Cleanse and Purify Disadvantage: Flesh Over Steel Full battle formations have the following: Advantage: Cleanse and Purify Disadvantage: Death Before Dishonour Fluff The Night Angels are a chapter with a long history. Created early in M33 in the wake of concerns (later proved groundless) regarding the stability of Ultramarines geneseed, Dark Angels geneseed was used to create the new chapter. The first chapter master, Safriel, was a Dark Angel who had earned much renown on the battlefield, but who the Inner Circle of the Dark Angels judged incapable of accepting the crushing burdens of that chapter’s secrets. When the time came to create the core of the new chapter, Safriel was chosen to be the new chapter’s first master. In this way, Safriel was given the honor and responsibility his battlefield prowess had earned without burdening his soul with the Dark Angel’s crushing secrets. Originally dubbed the Azure Hawks, the new chapter gained its current name as a result of a series of events that occurred in its first millennium of existence. In the middle of the 33rd millennium, a large force of Night Lords, led by Lord Balaam, assaulted an inquisitorial stronghold where large stores of ancient data were housed. The Night Lords laid waste to the planet and made off with untold amounts of valuable data. The Ordo Malleus organized a response to this outrage, but as the Grey Knights were unavailable, requested help from the Adeptus Astartes. Their call was answered by the Azure Hawks. Chapter Master Raguel saw an opportunity to establish bonds with the Inquisition, and put the whole chapter at the disposal of the inquisitor lord leading the reprisal force. The combined force pursued the Night Lords warband across half the galaxy, dogging their heels as they pursued some agenda of their own, seemingly seeking something. Finally, on the far fringe of the galaxy, orbiting a star dubbed Athena, the pursuit concluded with battle. The bulk of the Chaos forces assaulted the system’s inhabited planet, Athena Prime. However, the chapter’s chief librarian, Israfil ascertained that this was a diversionary attack, and that the real goal of the Chaos lord was in the rings of the system’s largest gas giant, Athena Delta. In response, the Azure Hawks split their force. Elements of the first and second companies, under the command of the Librarian Israfil and the commander of the first company, commander Sariel, went to intercept the Chaos lord in the rings of Athena Delta with the inquisitors, while the chapter master took the rest of the chapter to Athena Prime. The smaller force of Space Marines caught up with the Chaos lord at the objective he had been seeking, a continent-sized moon that housed an ancient base. The fighting over this prize was fierce and bloody, but in the end the Azure Hawks prevailed. They found an extraordinary trove of data and technology, apparently from the Age of Expansion. The moon housed an ancient city, human built but devoid of any signs of inhabitation. They also found great warp engines and space drives, complete but never fired. Finally, most unusually, they found evidence that the base had been used by the Imperium to house something very strange – a young girl, kept in stasis. The Night Lords had overwhelmed the small contingent of defenders, but had been unable to penetrate the chamber where the girl’s stasis chamber was kept before being driven off. Meanwhile, Chapter Master Raguel took the bulk of his chapter to confront the Night Lords on Athena Prime. The population of Athena Prime had reached an industrialized culture, but lacked the technology to face the Night Lords on its own. Furthermore, the Chaos forces had begun their campaign of psychological warfare by the time the Azure Hawks arrived. However, their arrival fulfilled an ancient prophecy - that the Father of Mankind would send his angels to deliver the population from their darkest night. The arrival of the Space Marines bolstered the population’s will to resist, and the Night Lords found themselves facing stout resistance led by Space Marines, rather than the cowed, terrified populaces that they were accustomed to. Experiencing defeats on several fronts, the Night Lords withdrew to strongpoints, only to be attacked by squads of Azure Hawks who had infiltrated the locations and lay in wait. The Azure Hawks kept the Night Lords confused, afraid, and on the defensive, and virtually annihilated them piecemeal, a pitiful few managing to flee their righteous wrath, though Chapter Master Raguel fell in the final battle. His body shattered, he was placed within the armored sarcophagus of a dreadnought. After the withdrawal of the surviving Night Lords, the planet’s grateful populace overwhelmingly referred to the Space Marines as the Angels of the Night. The chapter recruited from the planet to make good their losses, and claimed domain over it, inevitably taking on the name that the populace bestowed upon them – the Night Angels. Using Athena Prime as a starting point, the expanded outward, bringing the Emperor’s grace to the surrounding sector. The Night Angels were as meticulous in civil affairs as they were in battlefield planning, seeing the strategic value in establishing each planet as a strong bastion of the Imperium. They would coordinate the reconstruction of each planet so that it could contribute to the next campaign. Athena Prime was an example of this forward-thinking. The planet’s ecosystem was shattered by the Night Lords’ assault, so the Night Angels directed the inhabitants to build underground cities and farms. They did so, expanding over the millennia, saving and recovering most of the species of flora and fauna that had inhabited the surface, constructing vast underground gardens, arboretums, and preserves that are the wonder of the sector. The planet’s industrial capacity was also recovered and improved upon, so that the planet could provide arms, and as the population recovered, it was able to begin providing Imperial Guard regiments to assist in the campaigns in the sector. The Night Angels took the ancient base as their own, igniting the drives, making it their fortress-monastery and giving it its name – Angels’ Keep. Who the girl in the center of Angels’ Keep is was a mystery, but the inquisitor lord who had led the expedition swore the Night Angels to keep the secret and watch and defend her chamber while he delved into the mystery. She resides in a chamber attached to devices that bear similarities to the apparatus of the Golden Throne, but without any external means of opening her sarcophagus. Also, rather than keeping the girl in complete stasis, she has matured physically at an infinitesimal rate, so that over the millennia, she has reached adulthood. This has led the chapter’s librarians and allies within the inquisition to conclude that the girl herself has control over her chamber, and will emerge when she is ready. Consequently, the chapter always maintains a company-strength guard over the sarcophagus, both to guard it against external attack, and to guard against the possibility that the girl is some sort of threat. The chapter’s inquisitorial allies also participate in this watch. This has resulted in a close relationship between the Night Angels and certain elements of the Inquisition. The Night Angels have kept their oath for over seven millennia, guarding the secret of Angel’s Keep from all intruders. This has led them to be standoffish with some elements of the Inquisition, but with other elements, particularly in the Ordo Malleus, they have a bond of trust reinforced by a tradition of cooperation thousands of years old. An interesting aspect of Angel’s Keep is that it is the only known mobile fortress-monastery with a self-sustaining civilian population. The installation was built with vast amounts of living quarters, far more than one chapter of the Adeptus Astartes could possibly need, leading some to speculate that it had originally been intended to be some kind of colonial transport. Intitially, these living quarters remained empty, but in M35 the chapter used Angel’s Keep to evacuate the population of an agri-world in the path of a Tyranid Hive Fleet. Some millions of the refugees petitioned to remain upon Angel’s Keep, a request which the chapter granted. The population grew naturally, occasionally being added to by other refugees or families invited by the chapter to reside on the facility. Now, some hundreds of millions of people live and work on Angel’s Keep. The civilian population lives in awe and admiration of their Space Marine benefactors, and assists with the defense of the facility with the equivalent of PDF regiments, and even provides a small trickle of regiments to the Imperial Guard. Balaam, though defeated, did not fall in the fighting, nor did he accept his plans being thwarted by the Adeptus Astartes. Over the millennia, he has attempted to take Angel’s Keep over and over again. The chapter’s masters assume that he knows of the existence of Hope, and believes that she is crucial to some infernal bid for power he is attempting. Over time, this has inevitably led to a deep-seated hatred mutual hatred between the Night Lords legion and the Night Angels chapter, as Balaam has orchestrated attacks by the Night Lords upon the Night Angels’ holdings throughout the millennia, with the Night Angels constantly resisting and thwarting their efforts. |

| Name of Chapter: The 8th Company of the Luna Wolves Space Marine Legion. (They are Imperials) Chapter Derived from: None, is actually a company from an old Legion Colors: White Chapter Advantages/Disadvantages Advantages: No Mercy, No Respite. Take the Fight to them. Disadvantages: Eye to Eye, Have Faith in Suspicion Fluff: Forthcoming, still fine tuning rules. Rules(may not be as much rules as explanations to why I set my army up as I did): Veteran Elites: The Luna Wolves were once the elite of the elite, the very backbone of the Adeptus astartes. Even their rawest recruit was by most standards a hardened veteran. As such, certain strictures apply. All sargeants must be equipped with etheir bolt pistol, power weapon and terminator honors, or a storm bolter may replace the bolt pistol. All squads of infantry must take atleast on veteran skill, if able. This counts for command squads, and the veteran skill also applies to independent characters. Spearhead: All units must be equipped with a drop pod, and may select no other transport. Assault squads are exempt from this stricture, but are at a limit of 0-1. Their sargeants may also replace the standard bolt pistol and power weapon (or storm bolter) with a pair of lightning claws, which no other unit but terminator assault squads may field. Ancient Wisdom: The Luna Wolves, due to their ferocity in combat, were often loathe to committ a marine to the sarcopogus of a dreadnought. Due to this rarity, those few who did were men of great value to the chapter. Their skill before their internment was such that they were as wise and powerful as many other Legions and their Venerable Dreadnoughts. As such, an 8th Company Luna Wolves army may only take a 0-1 choice in dreadnoughts, and it must be a venerable dreadnought taking the furious charge skill and a drop pod. Heart of the enemy: Due to their ferocious nature, the Luna Wolves (While not disdaining it) rarely trained devastator squads. As such, theirs numbers in a squad may never be more than one, and their Sargeants were often veterans of thousands of campaigns, assigned to protect the revered gun-men as they supported the Legion with fire power. They may only take a bolt pistol and power weapon with terminator honors. Spirit of the Lupercal: Any marine who could rise to the rank to command an entire Company of Luna Wolves in the Adeptus Astartes was and is a figure of awe, a near living myth for his wisdom and power in battle. Along the way, he has realized any good leader must, that his strength lies in his brothers as well as within. To reflect such, every Luna Wolves command squad must take a full retinue (sergeat, apothercary, standard bearer, and company champion). To reflect this, a Luna Wolves company may only have one Master/Captain, or only one Master of Sanctity/Reclusiarch. They may not take both. Man and not Divine: Due to their time being before that of the Emperors Holy Ascencion, a Luna Wolves army is rare to include a Chaplain, and often these forces were rare, and the veteran marines of the chapter hesitant to follow the lead of such a zealous and often unbalanced leader. To represent this, any Luna Wolves army led by a Chaplain may have a 0-1 selection in the Elites slot on the Force Organisation Chart, but may select and alter their command squad at will, with the Veteran Elites rule applying still. Thats all I can think of, apologies in advance for any confusion of what I meant. There are likely omisions as well. I will edit this tomrrow, but wanted soem feedback to look forward to.... It is late and I am tired. G;night all |

| That's entirely up to you. However, the conventional reaction will be to assume that it's a custom chapter, just with the rules of whatever chapter you happen to choose. So, if you happen to have (for instance) gold-armored SMs who follow the Black Templars rules, that's fine as long as you follow all of the BT's rules. |

| Name of Chapter: white dragons Chapter Derived from: salamanders Chapter Advantages/Disadvantages: not got any Fluff The chapter where believed to have been composed of the salamanders. The chapter has fought in many campaigns but it first campaign was on a planet named after the commander of the tau force they where fighting. His name was Artania his army was the noblest army they had fought. The chapter was nearly destroyed during the battle as they only had one company worth of men left after the battle. But they still fought of a tyranid invasion of there planet. They have fought in many campaigns since but have not been able to reform there forces as they only have two companies still.

| Not neccessarily true- none are known, but GW hasn't said there aren't any at all, the mystery of the Black Dragons is that they may be a founding of the salamanders. Im sure there are a few chapters who use Vulcan's geneseed. |

| Name: Penitent Knights Chapter Derived From: All of them, sort of... Advantages: Cleanse & Purify Disadvantages: Death Before Dishonour Fluff:Too much to entirely post here (anyway its in the fluff section), but basically they are 'penal' marines of sorts who are no longer truly members of the Adeptus Astartes (they have the physical abilities but few of the 'rewards') and have taken an oath of never ending war. Colours: Glossy Black Armour & Silver Helmet Left Arm and Shoulder pad in original Chapter colours. Right Shoulder pad differs depending on squad type e.g. Impero Praetorians is Gold. The Shoulder Pads trim is always silver except in very special exceptions. Heraldry: Skull and Tear in a myriad of combinations (my mates designing it for me and thats the only direction I gave him so I dont even know what its going to look like )- only used on banners and vehicles, or can be used a battle badge by anyone who has contributed a marine to the Knights.Battlecry: "For The Emperor!" (squad commander) "For Redemption!" (squad) |

Blog Entries: 4 | the thing is, sure salamanders don't "have" any successors like GW says. but remember that 1) in the universe of 40k, TONS of records get lost, and 2) "dont have successors" is like saying "we dont support them", GW can say that about ANY player-made successor chapter and the fact that it doesnt exist. but thats not true, you can make what you want. 3)the GW storyline encompasses only so much of the time, anything past that point is considered availalbe but not under GW jurisdiction. "Time" both as in time of GW's statement and also time of the "latest" fluff in GW history
