Default The Entombed Host

Ok so the idea for a Librarian Dred had me thinking.
An Entirely Drednoughtified SM legion.

The only non dred entombed things would be Techmarines and Servitors.

Ideas welcome.

Wow, that would be very strange! I wonder how that force would do. I would be all for it, it would be fun! I know the closest thing to this idea was workable with the old Blood Angels codex. You use to be able to field 6 Dreadnoughts for only like 700-800 points. With new Space Marines codex and Apocalypse, you could do an entire dreadnought force!

thanks,

I was thinking like this

FA

would have lighter dred armor and be "AGILE" (move up to 12")

and heavy supports would be mortis dreds fielded 1-3 per squad and can split fire like long fangs

Troops would be basic dreds with no upgrades available

Elites would be Venerable dreds

HQ would be the LB dred i made,
an Entombed Chapter Master
Entombed Chaplin

Stuff like that.

a Techmarine would be required (duh.) and he can have up to 10 servitors.

well, fluff wise the idea isn't plausable since the ability to manufacture dreadnaughts has been lost to humanity. also, who would replace the pilot when they finally kick the bucket?

having said that...it is a totally rocking idea and i love to see it on the table! and since apoc allows anything you want...?

yous a crazy fool steve, taking the madness of mega collecting to the raggedy edge

Love the idea.

What I find gets on my goat is to the point of Hairy.

The ability to build dreads is lost to humanity. So how can they repair them? What happens when one is severly damaged... and what happened to reverse engineering?

Yeah I'd like to see where they lost the technology to build them, considering they've been upgrading them all the way through Mark IV's I do believe.

sorry krom, are you saying i get on your goat of the point i made gets on your goat?

what happened to reverse engineering? probably the same thing that happened to research and development. they got lost in the mysticism and ritualisation of technology that the adeptus mechanicus evolved.

short answer...*shrugs*

I'm a little unsure. I think I've confused myself...

What I'm trying to say is the story of loosing the information gets on my goat. You are neither my goat or get on my goat.

or so he thinks...
haha. but steve i think this is a crazy idea ! and excellently tasty.
you could also consider like FA are drop podding and can thus "surgically strike" anywhere they want, and heavy support might have the lascannon/missile launcher upgrade, etc. ?
just a thought..

i really don't know how you would represent the HQ though, maybe with the experimental rules in those HQ dreadnought threads/VDR? :]

The HQ would be a Dread Lib and a DreadChap or soemthing like that and it`ll be awesome

It`s still not the Iron Warriors Legion though.
