I think technically... yes! And I don't think the FAQ says a thing about it! To avoid calls of cheese, you might not want to do it... but that would be so cool!

Pshaw to cries of 'cheese'! Iron Father Medias now has a purtiful jump pack, and is running with a ten man assault squad, 2 flamers, and power fisted sargeant.... Why does that sound so painful?

The Scions of Mars trait lets you take a Techmarine with +1 wound as an HQ choice that can also take equipment from the armoury. He can still take his servo-harness because he's still a Techmarine, but since he can take equpiment from the armoury, he can take a jump pack!

GAAAAAAHahaha cheese everywhere! lol i'm just joking. it seems weird though to do that. isn't the single servo-arm mounted on the backpack already ? it seems like the techie would lose it with a jump pack. i think sticking him on a bike would be much safer...and you can get servo-harness still on a bike..i think ? haha

Yeah, in the 3rd Ed. Blood Angels codex, you could take a Techmarine in your jump pack-equipped honour guard, but he could not have a servo-arm. But that was back when Servo-arms were not standard equipment.

I have decided to put Iron Father Medias on the rotation list for being work on, if for no other reason than it would be sooooo cool! I'll begin brainstorming immediately. In the mean time, any bit suggestions? I'm thinking making use of apothecary bits, Warsmith bits from Iron Warriors, and the chirugeon from Fabius bile, as well as xyclos needler bits. Very prickly...

the only rule that could even possibly be broken is the law of physics. lets remember that were possibly adding a good bit of weight on to the back of a medal model that has a big ole metal servo harness already on his back. if you can do this tactfully then go ahead otherwise the best chance i could see in this guy actually carrying the jetpacks on him would be rocket boots! or something like that

now enough nonsense. their is truely no rule that says your tech cant get a jetpack or a bike

now i would suggest the bike and jetpack on many occasions however depending on how your using the tech priest i would suggest one transportation over the other

if he is going to be kicking some hand to hand then jet pack obviously

if he is going to be fixing things then the best bet is a bike for obviouse reasons.

however the downside of this it would be really stupid to bring along servitors as they would restrict the movement of the techmarine and slow him down.

just my 2 cents

Yeah sound pretty cool...but what ya gonna use for the actaul jump pack personally I won't use just a standard marine jump pack...Maybe since he is an Iron Hand marine after all and they are so well loved by the Adeptus Mechanicus you could give him a tech relic kind of jump pack or an experimental one... because his work has please the Fabricator General...maybe not even a conventional jet pack! A hover disk! or a small warp generator for short distance warp jumps! oh man the possibilaties are endless please do post a pick on whatever you decide!!!!

How about some sort of anti gravity pack. A bit like the Elysians, but they can move around with it.

I'd need to see a picture of the bit really.

And to the insistance of putting him on a bike: Naaaah... I'll pass...

For the main reason of, I despise bikes. And it is horribly un-fluffy for Iron Hands.

chute...chute...odd word...

That would need converting still to fit on the Iron Father properly and I don't know if its impressive enough looking to explain lifting a marine (maybe weighs 1 ton alone) with 4 huge metal arms on him he probably like 2-3 tons...just doesn't look like they have enough horse power...actaully getting something to look like it could lift him might be a problem....Backpacks aren't seeming too actractive to me since he already has a plus size pack

oh and love my sig...prompted me to post my kroot army

So far... Here are my ideas... I will have to first gather the REST of the bits for the Iron Father, then after his is put together, craft him a jetpack. I'll have fun with this one!
