Default mixing mechanicus and apothecaries

What do you guys think of the idea of mixing marine apothecaries and techmarines? well, I say that because I am thinking of making a marine army that is an experiment by adeptus mechanicus and whatever the group of apothecaries is called. The marines are being constantly being watched by the aopthecaries and they are always learning and getting better, even moreso than standard marines. So I was going to have an apothecary attached to every tactical squad, and then mixing the apothecary symbol with the mechanicus symbol.. heres my idea:

I know its a crappy drawing, but it shows the idea. Please let me know what you think of the idea and the sombol. Any feedback is much appreciated.-

Well I think that its an interesting idea. Putting an apothecary in each squad would bump up the overall squad cost. This is also not a legal rules idea as only command squads can have apothecarys (not like in DoW).

Fluff wise i supose i could see it working. Maybe the Adeptus mechanicus are experimenting on improving the space marines. Creating a more stable gene seed etc...

well I be damned, it is legal. Soz

Apart from the obvious rise in tactical squad price, and the loss of the sergeant (and all the advantages of a sergeant), I see nowt wrong with it then

well for me to get an apothecary, I upgrade my sergeant to veteran sergeant, then i have to upgrade it to an apothecary.. so its going to cost alot.. but its going to work with my theme idea and it should help make my marines survive alot easier.

that sounds really interesting actually, although the techpriest is a little out of place [at least to me it seems that way.] well unless you want to rhino-rush haha, or do something of that sort. it's interesting though. i never realized how powerful purity above all really is..except for the crazy costs :|

good luck though! and i do like the heraldry :]

Yeah, maybe if you had a heavily mechanised army. But the Adepts of Mars probably wouldn't see disciplines of the flesh and of machine as a good mix. However, if your marines were like the Iron Hands, and had lots of bionics, it could work.

Some people do build armies for things other than game-power men!

All that aside, the cost is prohibitive, but you can swing it!

Then there is the bigger A-Hole (Me) who designs a fluff, makes a list, then tweaks it within the bounds of the fluff until it fights like a demon.

alot of people complain about "purity above all" being beardy. I don't think so, just warning you.

How in the Name of the Emperor is something that makes a single wound, standard tact. squad sergeant, into a 55pt model beardy? I can buy a Rhino w/ extra armor for that much!

also a desciple of a machine god would fit - adepta biologicus, adepta genetica - not to mention all the other ones mentioned in the fluff, the AM work on all aspects of the imperium in some way, just read any novel where the AM feature and youll see mention of all these, especailly if the inquisition are involved.
