Default Need help organizing and army

hey all, I've been switching off between 40k and fantasy lately, but i decided that i'm going to spend my available money on my small space marine army, instead of my Empire army. i was wondering if you guys could guide me in the right direction of what i need/should get in addition to what i have. this is what my army currently consists of:

commander (plasma pistol and power sword)
commander (2 lightning claws
20 space marines (flamer,plasma gun, missle launcher)
5 assualt marines (plasma pistol)
dreadnought
rhino
predator destructor

i was thinking of getting a devastator squad (if so, what weapons) and a squad of scouts w/ snipers

Quoted this so I can look at what you have...

Hmmm... I would drop or trade one commander for a jump pack Chaplain. Two commanders isn't as great as it seems.

You've got plenty of armor and heavy fire from that... My suggestion is to get scouts w/ snipers... Then.. 5-10 more assault marines, THEN devs..

Might also consider, with all that armor, taking a tech marine as well.

thanks guys. Anyways, i just went to the store and bought the scouts and a dev. squad, and the assault squad will be next. i play 40k on a board that has 4 cities of death buildings, pipes, and a canal, so i guess it follows the rules and stuff for a cities of death game. anyways, for the dev. squad, what do you recommend to give them? i have so far made the sergeant, and a HB marines. i dont think a plasma cannon is a good idea b/c i dont want it to overheat. also, is there any point in giving them a multimelta, since they will only be supporting?

i was thinking of doing this: sergeant, HB, HB, ML, ML

remember that everything in that dev squad must fire at the same thing. I'd go with 4 ML's as the versitility can not be beat. Armor hunting and anti -infantry.

my 2 cents. you could also load em all in that rhino and do 4 HB's great suppression force.

im a 4 ml person myself it
gives you the ability to use the same list againt many opponents

so i made a list for my army, and here it is (btw, the dev. squad only comes with 1 ml, but i had another from a tactical squad)

Master of sanctity: rosarius, crozius arcanum, frags, bolt pistol, jump pack, term. honours

dreadnought: CCW, storm bolter, assault cannon,

Scouts(5): 4 snipers, 1 ML, sergeant

Tactical squad (8): sergeant, flamer, multi-melta

Tactical Squad (8): sergeant, plasma gun

Assault Squad (5): sergeant w/ powerfist and bolt pistol, term. honours

Devastator Squad (5): sergeant, 2 ML, 2 HB

Predator Destructor: 2 HB sponsons

1. dont mix assualt weapons with heavy weapons, otherwise it is:

"7 men standing and watching the multi-melta miss the tank"

just take another bolter

haha listen to steve. i totally learned that the hard way: if you want to move anywhere at any point in the game, then don't use heavy weapons mixed with assault...haha
other than that, it looks like a pretty solid list !
one thing though, i'm assuming you're using the models that you have physically, but see if you can trade for or somehow acquire another pair of missile launchers. the range discrepancy of the dev squad might hurt you in the long run.

again, same problem, you can only move or shoot that multi, i'd say drop it completely, or take the bit and convert it onto a vehicle VDR FTW!
