Exclamation New Blood Angels 1500 list

Alright so I've been thinking and I decided to cut scouts out of my list so here is the new one.

HQ

Company Captain

Plas Pistol, Power Mace and Jump pack =140

Lemartes Guardian of the Lost = 125

Elite

5x Death Company = free

5x Veteran Assualt

Power Weapon, Power Fist and Flamer = 195

5X Veteran Assault

Power Weapon, Power Fist and Flamer = 195

Troops

10x Tactical Squad

Power Weapon (for sarg) and flamer = 210

10x Assault

Power Weapon and Combat Shield (for sarg) = 270

Heavy Support

10x Deavastator

Plas Pistol (for sarg) 2x Las Cannon 2x Plas Cannon = 320

Total= 1470

I need help rearranging this list so I can get the Death Company up to 10 models

The battle plan is put Lemartes in Death Company and Captain with the big assualt squad I will have Death Company on one flank and the assault on the other and have them backed up by a veteran squad each then have tactical squad and devastator squad in centre and split the devastator squad up due to combat squads 2 las cans in one and 2 plas cans in others.

BUT the main thing I need help with is trying to fit in the extra 5 death company

Dunno why but your list seems rather... thin.

I don`t have the Blood Angles Codex handy for simple technical reasons

But could you cut from the Devastators?

And you need jetpacks on the death company with a jet pack chaplin

agreed. for some odd reason, its always essential to have a chaplin included with Death Company. One reason is so they dont go berserk and all. I would actually cut the dev squad out completely because you could lose some good heavy weapons. Just replace with a couple of scout squads and you could get those extra Death Company guys.

Not bad, but maybe consider dropping one of these squads for something else.. I'll come back w/ suggestions after I make it to the bottom of the list.

Troops

Drop the combat shield. It and the plasma pistol from your Co. Master being dropped will nearly pay for the Death Co. Having jet packs. In fact, drop this squad all together and go for a nice baal pred or some type of armor. You really need it, and their intended strategy won't work all that well in a game.

Heavy Support

10x Deavastator

Plas Pistol (for sarg) 2x Las Cannon 2x Plas Cannon = 320
Drop the plasma pistol. Dev sergeants mantra = BASICS. In 1.5K you can't afford to tweak him AT all. Change the heavy weapon set up to 3x missile launcher (or 4) and 1x las cannon. In this low of a pts. value games, that is all you need.

Total= 1470

Quite simply put, you won't get your D.C. up to 10 models in list list whilst maintaining a list worth a crap., honestly.

The battle plan is put Lemartes in Death Company and Captain with the big assualt squad I will have Death Company on one flank and the assault on the other and have them backed up by a veteran squad each then have tactical squad and devastator squad in centre and split the devastator squad up due to combat squads 2 las cans in one and 2 plas cans in others.

In all reality, you would work better letting the Chaplain stay in the air. Stick the captain (drop his jump pack for something else, or just drop it) with a tac squad... Drop the big assault squad down to five, or out of the picture. Buy a nice, big tac squad, stick the captain in in and shoot /mow down all who oppose.

The DC and Chaplain should be your spearhead up the middle. Their shock value should hit the enemy dead center. Plus, w/ out jump packs the Chaplain is going to make the DC useless, and vice versa.

This will destroy that part of the army, and force him to fold up his flanks to march in support to take care of the death co. use your two veteran assault squads to roll up the flanks and hit the units trying to plug the gap in the middle and just push the enemy further and further back


BUT the main thing I need help with is trying to fit in the extra 5 death company

Like I said above.. It's just not happening. It won't, unless you want a totally useless list.

I cant drop these guys other wise the list is illegal and ive put the combat shield on Sarg and I think it looks cool so ill keep it.

Already put these together but I will take off of the pp. but should I put cc weapon and bp or bolter on sarg?

Total = 1480

So I have 20 spare points not enough for another DC so what should I buy with 20 points?

well erus is being straightforward :] sometimes lists just really get a lot of critiques, which is generally really helpful :]

anyhow, hmm. reading up, i think the dev sergeant should have a bolter..his range will then be the same as the rest of the squad [except the actual heavy weapons, of course] and this means you can move and shoot everything [sans heavies, again] and not worry about range or weapon differences. it also saves you the price of upgrading the sergeant to vet serg. at all. :]

as for the assault squad with a combat shield, you can have it on the model but simply not count it points wise or game wise. not exactly WYSIWYG but most people should let it slide. don't forget to buy him a BP too. :]

i don't have any other comments for the list right now...but it's a cool army :] BA is awesome.

You can model the shield on there, and it doesn't violate WYSIWYG at all, actually. All that you need do is, again, inform your opponent that the model doesn't carry the combat shield wargear, you just thought it looked cool. As long as you and he can remember that, it's fine..

WYIWYG is more pertaining to the fact that I can't really model the guy with two bolt pistols and claim one is a storm shield, etc... IT means the bits on the model must accurately (in most regards) portray/represent the wargear.

I'd go bolter on the dev sarge. If the Devs are in CC, a lot more is wrong in the game, and a bolt pistol really won't help ya at that point.

Again, my first comments weren't harsh. They were just being completely honest and critical. A lot of times on a lot of forums, you never really see a true dressing down or a critique. So, I strive to be that way, and find at least 2-3 things wrong for any lists, models, etc... even if I personally love the object in question, i'll still try to find something to bring up. I just think it helps to know as much as ya can.

I Play Blood Angels A LOT and their are a few things you should probably consider. One is obviously MORE DEATH COMPANY, i cant stress this enough you need them. Two: since you can take an assault squad as a troop choice i highly recomend taking a lot more of them, this will help because of rhino rush. Wich brings me to another thing field 3-4 rhinos, this will help when you put the assault squads in the Rhino, jump across the field and kill in close combat!

Assault Marines Have jump packs rhino's although great can tangle your units up which trust me as a BA player is NOT helpful. Death Company are harsh but expensive so just use the free ones. 5 is more than enough as i have had 5 with chappie and jump pack run straight through a Tyranid army, and had the nid player running from them with a carnifex and stealers ffs.

Anyway, drop a VAS (Veteran Assault squad), put jump packs on the Death company and give yourself a Baal Pred with some upgrades i suggest storm bolter and Xtra armour if possible. This should help as your opponent will look to the tanks first then your infantry and the Baal pred is very Harsh to infantry and can even be used to help that pesky charge on your devs.
