hmm, if i may draw some attention back to swords previous dilemma of the Rhino vs. LR ? :P

(im interested in what you guys have to say about it too ) lol

I think he means LR+Rhino vs. more numbers and infiltrate. You see what serving Khorne gets ya, removing parts of your brain is not good. LMAO. Honestly, since your friends like to take out your Las units, ya might wanna think twice about the LR. You could throw in a Pred and do the infiltrate thing.

When i said Drop pods are too expensive I meant dollars not points.

And yeah my choice is between 2 Rhinos and a LR or just inflitrate the whole army or just the CC guys instead

I myself would go with the LR and 2 Rhinos. I'd probably drop the Dread, maybe pump up the numbers of the bikes, and use them a screening force for the LR.

I was thinking about that and maybe doing the long range dread with the las and missile

That might be a good ideal, unless you drop pod em the Dread will probably be toast. In my experince they don't last long in the open. The Las and Missile would give you some potent anti-armour punch, for sure.

I have no clue, since I don't use them, but if anyone has a tut it would nice if ya posted it! I might start using dreads for apoc, but only in droppods.

this is slightly off topic, but
i believe the GW online store has some metal m-launcher arms, without the missile pods actually attached. they come at maybe $5 a pop i think, and i can imagine those as nice starting places for extra arms :]

The magnets are the way to go.I have 4 dreads for my 1 army and a hole box of painted arms,works great.

well in my experience the arms fit tight in the beginning but will EVENTUALLY get loose. The Magnets are the way to go IMHO and will never let you down!!

I havnt tried podding dreads yet hmmm, maybe a furioso in the enemy lines hahahaha...........

Right so the infiltrating thing you mentioned, i use it a lot as my DIY SM chapter dislike the use of transports works well but it has to be well thought out and you have to take the enemies flank before they can react very difficult.

Your list looks good, a solid wall of tank backed up by a lot of troops but i have one question:

hehe grey knights are the worst. unless it's a geared up command squad then they could cost 600-700 points and shoved into a rhino.

If you are still looking for advice, here is mine...

LR - My oppion on these if you have the points and count on them being a huge soaking point for enemy fire than go for it. I once used 2 in a 1500 point game and the opponent spent so much time trying to turn them into craters that the rest of my army marched up and took the objectives for the win.

Rhino - Great for getting where you want to be as long as you want to be there on turn one, because past that they will be nice 5+ cover save for you with any luck, otherwise they are just dust in the wind.

Infiltrate - Great if you are going against Tau, I. Guard, other Marines, Eldar. Bad against Bugs, Orcs, Assualty Marines. Get closer to those you want to crush and stay away from those that want to swarm you.

Drop Pods - Never used them, so I don't have any oppion on them.
