Default Servitors

I'm thinking of feilding a techmarine with 2 servitors to fill an elite slot and eat up some points... what kind of servitors are best, Heavy weapon servitors, or servo arm servitors? Thanks for your imput!

on another note, do the servitors have to stay with the techmarine, or are they allowed to leave him? I know he's not an IC so I wasn't sure...

they have to stay together.

on picking servitors it depends on what your doing with the tech marine.

are you giving him a rhino to ride around and repair your vehicles. or do you want and awesome looking fire base?

Servitors... three options the way I see it.

Normal Tech-marine and a bunch of HB/Multi-meltas

Servo-harness Tech-marine w/ CC servitors

Servo-harness Tech-marine w/ normal servitors and a rhino/razorback.

first off, yes the servitors must remain in unit coherency with the techmarine controling them! (it states "they acompany him" and thus implies they form a unit...)
if all the servitors are killed, then the techmarine reverts to being a 'normal' IC again and can go off and join whoever he pleases! (though DA techies aren't IC's anymore sadly...)

as to what types of servitors, well that depends on which area you think you're lacking!
- if you want a hard-hitting cc unit, then having 4 power fist + ccw servitors will make pretty much anyone shake in fear...
- technical servitors should only be used if you have lots of vehicles imho.
- gun servitor retinues are the most common and with DA's they're even nastier as there's no limit on the number of plasma cannon servitors per unit! (codex marines, templars & inquisitors are limited to only 1 plasma cannon per unit!)

the main thing to keep in mind is not to mix the different types...
same thing with weapons in gun servitor units. if you take a heavy bolter, then don't take a multi-melta as well because now you're mixing anti-infantry with anti-tank...

hope this helps,
cheers!

well do you think its a bad idea to mix heavy bolter servitor with plasma?? I mean I know you can only have one plasma, so its ok to mix the plasma right? And any idea whats the best combo for plasma?

I really dislike the plasma cannon... I would never use one. But, thats just me.

Why? I dislike blast weapons and IMHO the plasma rifle is a much better weapons...
