| ex Chaplain Shadow ![]() | Well first off, which fighting style do you want to use on the Table Top, Close Combat, Range Combat, or a Mix. Also I agree 100% with Brother Warchild, go ahead IF your positivley sure you want to start Space Marines, depending on when the new Codex comes out for them, not sure when the Codex comes out so, if it where me I would wait to make any purchases models, paints etc... until the new Codex comes out. So get the new Dex read through it, then look at some chapters study each chapter, half to do some homework here. Also you might find that you don't wanto to use a Chapter from GW and rather make a Custom Chapter. |

| the age of reptiles ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | personally i think it might be a good idea just t o buy some marines and put them together, just so you know how the kits are and what the models themselves are like, what kind of conversions you can pull off with them, etc. you could also peruse the current codex to see any fighting styles you like, then wait for the new codex and try to recreate the style and theme that you wanted using the new rules. :]

| Well personally I like ultramarines but they're not for everyone. If you dislike rigid rules and order I would avoid them like the plague and go with a chapter like the blood angels. But if you want to be unique go create your own chapter and be creative with it. Marines can be a fun as well as powerful army to collect but mostly fun! ![]()

| Trooper ![]() | well it seems my advice has been given out already, but if I were you I would peruse the current chapter dex's aswell as the general codex and play a couple of proxy games with a list that sparks your interest before making a decision on which chapter to start buying painting and playing, considering that the dark angels, blood angels black templars and space wolves all have different modelling from the standard marines it might be a good idea to settle on a chapter before you start buying all that stuff |

| Trooper ![]() | yeah I never really had that issue, I Was happy with my ultramarines but I've seen many, many people go through like four different SM armies and end up liking the first one the most. I mean yeah I'm considering changing over to the wolves but that doesnt mean I stop loving my smurfs know what I mean? just take your time and research before deciding what you drop a small fortune on... |

Blog Entries: 1 | I was in the same boat, I was indecision over dark angels, imperial fists, black templars, and some others. After reading "brothers of the snake" I knew the Iron Snakes were the chapter for me, I liked their fighting style and their background. |
