Space Marine Worlds - 40K Terra

I was recently reading posts, not from this site, but from another site where I first heard of this site. I was reading how people, the civilians on imperial worlds, like Hive worlds for example, how people live and are pretty much bunched up with each. I believe all civilains are assigned to certain things on Imperial Worlds, even procreation. etc... just a big cluster (you know what). What are the differences between worlds and living conditions for civilians on Imperial Worlds to that of Space Marine controlled worlds? It is early in the moringing so excuse me if I post doesnt make sense.

Actually it`s all about the ruler and the people

In the Ultramar Empire life`s good, really good. So you can expect to see a green park every now and then and other such humane things.

But it`s all up to the Chapter, I`ll take you back in time, prior to the heresy. Nightlord`s homeworld was a horrible place to life either because of the scum that infested the streets or the terrible batman-gone-crazy cleaning it up

But you could expect most SM homeworlds to be a generally better place to live then most imperial world. On one hand, corruption shouldn`t be abundent and on the other hand the inquisition`s forces would be almost non existent

But i`m pretty sure most use hive cities, even though i never saw a complete description of what they are

so for now to me their just realy big and really crowded and clustered cities

If your looking for a good description, read some of the Cal jerico comics, or read the gaunts ghosts book necropilis. both have good descriptions of hive citys and hive life. as for marines....well, it can be feral, EG Space wolves, or it can be fairly civilised EG ultra smurfs. it really does depend on the chapter like wakim said.

Why were they called Rainbow when their armor was blue?

yeah but at least Dark Angels have Dark Green armour and their original armour was Black....a lot of Space Marine worlds are places that can be easily defended and/or are perfect training habitats for Marines and aspirants alike (Fenris, Cretacia, Posul etc).

Do some SM worlds have IG regiments along with them, Most of the time or some of the time?

Space Marine worlds are exempt from having men tithed into the Imperial Guard so unless its a very unique case you wouldn't have Imperial Guard originating from an Adeptus Astartes Homeworld.

well actually, much like earth, only the poles are snow covered all year round. I've always imagined the rest of Macragge to be similar in average temperature to North West Europe (Britain, Germany, N.France etc)

They don't have IG per se.. But in many cases, they have Chapter Serfs and/or PDF, etc... Often these organizations are similar in size and training to the Imperial Guard... Just less of the tanks and sentinels and the like.

All Chapter's have Serfs on their ships and worlds. The Serfs are failed applicants to the chapter who are still strong enough to survive the "application" process.

depending on season but it rarely get above 25 degrees Celsius unless its summer time.
