Battle Companies

This is where the divergence lies, with the 2nd-5th companies. It was decided that rather than having 4 support companies, it was more efficient to merge them with the 4 battle companies. Thus, there are 4 210-man Companies. Additionally, over time the number of Assault Marines and Devestator Marines rose by 20, allowing each company to have 5 full size squads of each.

Speculatores Company

Speculatores Company, more commonly refered to as the Scout Company, is made up of the Chapter's neophytes. Due to the lack of a homeworld to recruit from, and though there is official procedure for the intergration of Chapter 'adoptees' (Guardsmen or other warriors taken in by the Chapter for testing after impressing a officer during combat), there are, of course, large numbers of crusade casualties. Therefore, there is never any more than 50 neophytes at any time. The Chapter's lowest was 1 after the completion of the Heriosian Schism.

Brothers of the Storm

The Brothers of the Storm are the most powerful figures in the Storm Marines Chapter. They, and they only, know of the Chapter's dark origins and penitent beginnings. Made up of the Chapter's Captains, Librarians, Chaplains and the incumbent Lord Techmarine (Rank unique to the Storm Marines, equivalent of Space Marines Captain or Adeptus Mechanicus Magos). The Chapter Master, also called 'Lord of the Storm' is the head of the group.

When a Marine is promoted to a position which grant membership in the group, his title is extended to include the world the Marine was recruited from. Those from the Chapter's destroyed homeworld of Kelnin are often older, better trained, more experienced, wiser, more intelligent and far more righteous than their counterparts, and are rightly respected and looked up to as a result.

There are 5 Captains - 1st Captain Mortifer of Kelnin; 2nd Captain Dexippus of Cadia; 3rd Captain Lucullus of Gudrun; 4th Captain Mucianus of Medusa V; 5th Captain Ricimer of Tallarn.

There are 3 Librarians - Epistolary Agrippa of Kelnin; Codicier Catalus of Kelnin; Codicier Regillus of Medusa IV.

There are 6 Chaplains - Lord of Sanctity Linus of Kelnin; Reclusiarch Anacletus of Kelnin; Reclusiarch Evaristus of Thracian Primus; Reclusiarch Xystus of Gudrun; Reclusiarch Telesphorus of Cypra Mundi; Reclusiarch Anicetus of Hydraphur.

Lord Techmarine Aedesius of Kelnin and Esteban (was trained as a techmarine on Esteban, originated from Kelnin).

The Craftsmen

The Craftsmen is the name given to the Chapter's techmarines and armourers. The sacred duty of tending to the Chapter's equiptment and maintaining it's armoury is bestowed upon only the most righteous of Serfs. The process is a long one which ends with the Lord Techmarine giving the Serf his position in person.

There is a Techmarine for each company, who oversees the armourers assigned to the respective Techmarine's company. Traditionally there is a Serf for each squad, but this can vary widely depending on the demands of a specific operation. Each member of the Brotherhood of the Storm is assigned their own Armourer. See below for Armoury details.

There are, in total, 250 Armourers and 6 Techmarines, in addition to the Lord Techmarine

The Armoury

The Chapter armoury was once a gargantuan building placed adjacent to the Chapter Keep. Now, however, it is only a term used for the Chapter's arsenal. It is made up of a massive amount of APC's, tanks, Land Speeders and Dreadnoughts. It is common for every Tactical, Devestator, Veteran and Terminator squad to have a dedicated transport.

Every Tactical and Veteran Squad has a Rhino as a transport. Each Devestator squad uses a Razorback, and each Terminator squad makes use of a Land Raider Crusader.

In total there are 69 Rhino and Razorback APC's; 10 LRC's; 5 Land Raiders; 3 Vindicators; 3 Whirlwinds; 5 Predator Annhialators; 5 Predator Destructors; 10 Dreadnoughts (3 Venerable); 20 Land Speeders (assorted).

Each vehicle is tended to by a dedicated armourer, and his team of servitors, as are dreadnoughts. The polishing and repairing of Space Marine's armour and equiptment is not the responsibility of the Armourers, but of the Marine, but the Armourer assigned to the Marine's squad is responsible for advising and guiding the Marines in respect to the maintaining of his equiptment.
