One guy had too much power within the imperium  You know what they say, power corrupts, but supreme power corrupts supremely He controlled ALL of the assassin cults + various other things including the SoB if i`m not mistaken, all of which he uses for his own personal gain, and at some point a civil war breaks out and he`s killed in the end by a Sororita That`s when the Assassin cults were also deemed as independed entities within the imperium

| Re: Where have all the marines gone? Black Templars have alot more than 1000 marines... and ya thats why the big "I" isnt too happy with them. But they say screw you and go hunt Ghazkull. So the Imperium doesnt really care since they havent caused any problems and hey why wouldnt you want more loyal marines?

Most codex chapters will have more than a thousand Marines in total because the majority follow the Ultramarines style of organisation, but because those numbers over the standard 1000 are specialists and support troops they're not usually counted towards the total. |

| Re: Where have all the marines gone? I have both of those books. Romulas, thats where I got the concept, and I thought that the Command staff were included in the first company. I'll check out my 4th rulebook, and thanks.

I like the iron hands since they split into 10 "chapters" each called a Clan Company each the strength of a full size chapter (near as i can tell from the fluff) so as far as i can see they can still feidl legion level numbers but so that 1 man doesent have control of them all they have their clan council.

| Re: Where have all the marines gone? Iron Hand clans aren't Chapter size, they operate independently most of the time like Space Wolf Great Companies, and like them they're probably slightly bigger than your standard Codex Company but nothing like a thousand marines in each |
