Blog Entries: 1 | this one's for you DK. so, black legion. well a black spray undercoat is a good place to start right? just be sure to add a very thin coat of chaos black when the spray's dry. why? cos the spray leaves a kinda chalky effect which'll show up if you have to paint over any slip ups with normal paint. once all the black is dry apply a very gentle drybrush of codex grey and paint on the different colours, silver for most of the banding and the bolter, gold on the shoulders and head banding, bleached bone for the skull and red for the top knot. ![]() ![]() you could quite happily stop there as this is a good basic table top paint job. however it could be made a bit more special by hitting the whole model with some thinned black ink. just dilute it with water and slop it on all over. it'll add some shading to, and dull down, all those bright colours. afterall who wants a bright black legionaire? ![]() ![]() again, you could stop right there and be satisfied, but a little highlight here and there will make the finished article really pop. add lighter shades of all your base colours to the different areas but do so sparingly, only painting the very edges and highest points. ![]() ![]() ![]() there ya go DK, have fun! i'll add a more advanced guide later, with layering and stuff for when you get brave ![]()

Blog Entries: 1 | I for one don't want shiny Black Legionnaires! Thanks a ton Hairy, I feel better prepared for painting my army. I gotta get some primer and some red, some better brushes, and I'll give it a go. I'll do a test model so you can give me some pointers, and I look forward to the more advanced tut. Many thanks!

Blog Entries: 1 | I have an abo****ey stunning sealing tut coming. You will need, Dullcote Gloss, and Matt. It even makes tranfers blend into the model better and gets rid of any glossyness, and provides a rock hard seal! |
