Blog Entries: 1 | Howdy peeps Just a quick guide I knocked together for someone who’s having problems with their death wing termies ,this might also be useful to anyone painting howling banshees. This was done using citadel colour paints, thinned with water at every stage. Painting bone armour After a white spray undercoat the marine is based coated bleach bone, and when dry washed with thinned flesh wash (half ink half water) ![]() Once the wash is dry the bleached bone basecoat is carefully reapplied leaving the ink in the recesses ![]() The first highlight is a 50/50 mix of bleached bone and skull white and is applied to roughly half the area of the basecoat, keeping mainly to the upper areas of each armour plate (although the shins have highlights on the lower edge too) ![]() The second highlight (the last one I did though you could add a few stages if you want) was pure skull white and went on half the area of the last stage of highlights, or any sharp edges like the shoulder guard rims. ![]() All that remains for you to do is fill in the details like the sort ribbing between joints, the eyes and mouth area on the helmet and the imperial eagle on the chest. Hope y’all found that helpful and informative ![]()

Blog Entries: 1 | I have been painting bone on a smaller scale (helmets etc on Ulthwe), would you suggest I paint the helmet white and use above? I have been using the earthy (cant remeber name) as a base coat and building from that. |
