Blog Entries: 1 | (Moved from my Project log - will post tutorials on this board from now on) Okay the first of my step by step. It is hard to get a clean canopy with standard painting, the best way around this is by masking and spraying. Now I am doing this black, if you are using a different colour for your army thats fine do the same as I am in black, when you come to painting your colour, lightly go over the top of the raised area in the desired colour leaving black in the ridges, leaving you the clean look. K you will need masking tape (this is just standard decorating tape - cheap!) ![]() you will need a knife (with fresh blade, that is key) ![]() First stick tape all over canopy (i use two layers to be safe) ![]() Then, with your finger nail push tape into crease firmly ![]() With knife "carefully" go round ridges getting right into the crease ![]() once that is done (have a good check you've got into corners first) slowly peel back tape using your knife to nick any uncut tape ![]() You should have something like this ![]() Now carefully check canopy, you may have some bits that need attention ![]() just put a little bit of tape over it and re cut ![]() now you need to slap some tape on the underside (again, check that no spray can get under) ![]() and voila your ready to go! ![]() Ok hope that helps someone, I know SoB have some canopies that you can use this on. (I'll show you them sprayed tomorrow) PS, if you want blacked out window do as above and then paint glass on the inside, looks like proper glass then. |

Blog Entries: 1 | I use Citadel Under coat. You must spray to get the clean lines. As I say even if your painting the canopy another coluer spray it with the black undercoat and lightly paint the raised bits with your colour. Though you can use any colour spray you like.
